One lonely (and metric?) Craftsman raised panel wrench?

maybe it's a ******* stepchild :dunno:

:lol_hitti

I'm building a Nanchang cj 6. The 14 was used in swapping a Chinese radial engine for a Lithuanian. Metric if to rare to keep a full set in my tool cart but i have his raised panel metric brothers in a small box in a corner.

What brand are those canon plug pliers?

They are Matco but I believe oem is imperial. I'd rather have the fatter jawed ones but its rare i even come across a canon plug in general aviation do they will do.

I have a shiny new dime for the first member who can correctly identify the maker of my frankenbox without doing a search. the Snap-On emblem is just there to mess with people who come to buy tools from Craigslist.

Really diggin that drawer layout. How did you customize it? Thought they didn't offer that?

Finally getting around to posting mine. I still need to make some permanent floor shims for them. The garage floor has a pretty good slope to it.

New husky on the right replacing the no name box on the left that a guy at work gave me. Husky cost me 109 out the door at Home Depot.

I'd be willing to bet that box on the left is a Test Rite tool box. If it has "pegboard" on the inside that will pretty much confirm it.

Also, I like the Husky. While they aren't the beefiest boxes on the planet, they offer a lot of storage for the money.

I'd be interested in seeing some drawer layout pics! I have the same box in red branded as a Craftsman. I plan on one day replacing it with a black Viper of the same layout...

It's funny you posted this because I'm in the process of redoing the same toolbox as the one on the left. It was a gift from my girlfriend's grandma. It was her late husbands so I felt compelled to restore it... I'll take a pic of the badge tonight and post it if you'd like.

Building my tool collection at work little by little. For now these boxes work fine. I mostly do service writing and operations, but I do turn some wrenches. Here is my set up so far.

i know pro's who dont have tools that nice, or well kept. awesome collection man:beer:

Thanks. My tools are a hodgepodge of Craftsman, Stanley, Harbor Freight, and lots of other brands ranging from Snap-on to the $5 tool bin at the hardware store. GJ has been a great resource as I've built my collection, although I've definitely had to fight some OCD tendencies that it's created too!

I am 21 and just starting out for building my tool collection. I am a mechanic in the CF and they supply tools and such at work. Most of my tools are from Canadian Tire. I picked up this older Beach top box on the local kijiji for $60! It still had the plastic wrap on the drawer pulls. I lined the drawers and have slowly been filling it up. I am on the hunt for the bottom roller that belongs with it.

The old lady across the street gave me that box on the left when she moved. It is just taking up space in my garage. Not very usable.

Wow, that is a very nice setup.  $60 for that box? Great deal. What are the dimensions of the box? It looks bigger than the standard 26" wide top box. I'm with Jake, that is a really different and IMHO nice drawer layout. Great mix of deep, shallow, wide, narrow drawers.

evandonald - That's a great box and what a deal! You can't go wrong with a Beach. I bought my first Beach box (an earlier version of yours) at Canadian Tire when I was about your age. That was in the mid 70's and it's still going strong. My Dad was also a CF mechanic.

To me it seems like the perfect place to store consumables...

I'd use the top three drawers for drill bits, screwdriver bits, recip saw blades, jig saw blades, ect.

The bottom I would use for the bigger bulk items still in their cases, like my circuit tracer, router bits, ect.

Very nice, very, very nice at any age yet alone 19. While there are some very impressive garages and tool boxes on this site, there are a whole lot of people on here who would love to have what you do.

Next you need your own garage to store it in...great start!

*why did you remove the US General badges? I like em!
