Here's my set-up. Hard to get a good pic because they're wedged in behind the two project Mustangs.

I have always been curious just how many tools all those boxes hold. Are they all filled to capacity?

Wow. That's the shop of my dreams. Lots of different types of tools, new, old, different brands, lots of storage, wide range for different types of work...always something interesting to look at, or to do. Ford/Dole, yeah!! A hybrid of a shop + a museum + the fortress of solitude, all wrapped up in one.

No tool polishing there; a working mans shop! I think you probably have at least one tool, if not more then one to pick from; to tackle any job/repair they might throw at you! It looks like to me, you are a fan of used tools; its interesting to see all the range of styles, brands and eras you end up with; when you buy used!

You know Hholmberg, when I see a shop like yours it really makes me question some of my tool purchases/choices. I have full sets of four-way angle Snappy Wrenches and stuff like that. I also realise you have a lot of newer stuff like that too. What I am talking about is looking into the drawers of the jumbled up, mix and match, all different configuration wrenches and realising they could be made to work in many more applications and tight spots than my fancy new gear. Very cool collection as some have said, old/new and many brands etc.

Thankyou very much for sharing and hopefully over the years I can aquire such a fine set of tools.

hholmberg is the winner of the coolest tool collection, toolboxes, and shop pics, in my opinion. Your shop looks awesome, the kind of place I'd love to crack a few beers open and talk tools and cars. Those immaculate "griot's garage catalog" rich man's "garages" with spotless floors, tons of expensive cabinets, and a not one ounce of style have got nothing on that. hholmbergs blows those out of the water if you ask me

Here is my one, Snap-On KRA 2007 and Stack-On combo...not everything included that I will buy further. And only metric sizes (except these 12pt. 3/8 sockets, are for some special applications).
Tools value...~6000,- Euro!

Very good eye! That is a 1930 Snap-on double box end wrench that someone along the way decided to open one end and turn into a line wrench. It is one of the oldest wrenches in the box.

I agree. What is it they say, there's a difference between a "house" and what is truly a "home".

Don't know how to complete the analogy using garage lingo, but you get the idea....................

Maybe.........It's not just a garage, but a real "mancave"???.

Like how you have the shelving up high for tires, manuals, various other stuff. My garage has a lot of unused space up there.

Hawk321, I noticed that Stahwille set and all your Hazet sockets!
As a German, can you give us a evalution of the Stahlwille and Hazet tools compared to Snapon? I escpecially like how German companies make the nice cases where all the pieces are organized and fit nicely in "their place"; I think it would be much hard to lose things thing way. In Germany, are the prices similar between the German stuff and Snapon? The fact that you have a Snapon bottom box and "Stack On" on top; a company that tried to benefit from the similarity in the brand name... is ironic and made me laugh! Another case of marketing and hoping you don't know the difference between the two, LOL!

I know the difference between Snap-On and Stack-On !!! The Top Box was my first box ever and considered more for my cellar, not for the daily work!

The prices for Stahlwille and Hazet are normally 40-60% under Snap-On....the tools are more durable than Snap-On...btw. A lot of Snap-On tools are similar to old Belzer and Dowidat tools, both companies were bought in the early 90's by Snap-On.

Specially Snap-On is horrible expensive here. When you compare the genuine prices (so Snap-On $ prices in USA and Hazet Euro prices in Germany), then mostly Snap-On is cheaper...(except Wrenches and sockets with bits).

Example: An impact socket from Hazet cost ~8$ in Germany (yes $), the same socket from Snap-On will cost 20 $ at minimum.
A 3/8 7mm long Inhex (heavy duty) socket cost here 30 Euro, that is ~38 $...the same socket from Hazet or Stahlwille >>> 12 Euro.

But nothing came close...at the ratchets of Snap-On. And no german Tool box has the size and quality as snap-on. Snap-On's KRA2007 is cheaper, bigger and more stable than Hazet or Gedore!

When you like those metal boxes for tool kits...then try Facom or SK, same just in plastic. German manufactors produces more and more plastic cases, because you will have no dents and ugly scratches. One disadvantage: You loose a lot of space in your toolbox, the system with rails and plastic socket trays safe more your space and prevent your tools for stealing from unloved colleagues.

Anyway, in USA you have the better prices! Be glad, that you can buy Gearwrenches or Air Tools so cheap. Everything youy can buy at AST, Craftsman etc....is 40-60% cheaper than here, you get all these tools by other brands...look at Craftsman cobra thread...2 cobras for 14$ ?!?! You get one here for 18 Euro (1 Euro=1,42$)....
German Tools are good, sometimes superior...but who cares, when germans technicians get the cheap supermarket **** from the employer and onlya wage of 11$/h?

May be I buy a used Snap-On Top Chest from Ebay.uk....it's cheaper than here.

although you don't NEED to be ase certified to work in the US, it will help to have then when looking for a job. some employers will base pay on how many certs you have.

Yep, You can tell ole Buck has been at it a while. Great over all selection, well used, fully functional and proven. You can have the "bling". You need it? Buck's got it.

Tell ya what. Elroy is taking a vacation day tomorrow and has a few things scheduled. If he gets a chance, he'll post up later in the week end. Be advised, Elroy doesn't have any "bling" and doesn't come close to some of the other posts.

These are original made by Hazet Sockets...had these BluePoint sockets...all broken...
at the top of them (Hazet) there is a plastic lip -longer then the socket itself- and the diameter of the socket is thinner than the bluepoints....good for expensive AMG rims.
