I am honestly surprised at the amount of interest me selling a snap on box has generated. Investment, no. Do you keep everything you purchase? Doubtful.

actually i do keep the tools i buy..
the only tool i've outright sold in the past 40 years was a plasma cutter that was rarely used, and was taking up much needed space.
i sold a roller cab and side box to a younger co-worker trying to help him upgrade

toolboxes have been traded in when upgrading to something larger..
i've gifted tools and boxes to a needy friend

i've had the same truck since '00
same harley since '87

i guess whats confusing to some members (myself included) is the sale and a "sideways upgrade".
most guys go for something with more storage

it's your money, your box, and your tools, do as you wish.

This is my last comment to you. I didn't specify keeping tools. I didn't ask if you keep all of the tools you buy. I asked if you keep everything you buy. That can be a range of things for regard to me selling my box. I had money in the box that I was able to recoup. That money can be used for other things. It is my money and that money will be better served in the form of a similar sized box with money left over for use with my family. I don't care if you consider this a sideways upgrade. But thanks for taking way too much interest as I was looking for testimonials from people dealing with STB or the tool vault/extreme tool box brand. Not too many people chime in on garagejournal in any threads.

I went from a kra53 top and bottom box with a full height locker and a half height side cab. It was totally brimming with tools to the point I couldn't get any more in. I traded for a KRL722 with the thought I'd thin my gear out a little.

however you make an open posting on a forum, and are surprised when you find someone that disagree's or questions what you did....

What's wrong with sanimax?:lol_hitti I have been there a number off time for rentals and you get use to the smell after about 20 minutes.

I have a couple of buddies who work for Wisconsin Lift, they all say the lifts that come from Sanimax are amongst the worst lol. The worst I had to deal will when doing hydraulics were garbage trucks, most of the time in the summer lol, that was bad enough.:willy_nil

Hopefully I'll have my tool box in soon so I can post a picture. I ordered one off of the Snap On rock and roll cab express truck. Has anyone been on the truck before?

I don't know if I wish I could or not. On one hand, I bet there's some cool schtuff on there. On the other hand, I'd be tapped out buying a KRSC416... All those KRLs and EPIQs would probably make me cry.

Yeah they had multiple epiqs, krl's, classics, and even a tool cart. The epiqs and krl's had hutches on them. I came off the truck with a order for a Krl1023 with the drawers completely reworked and a extra set of casters plus a stainless steel top with a hutch plus overhead storage. The total bill after rebates discounts came to $7800ish. Not to bad I think considering it started out at 16,000ish. They said it would be 1-2 months before it shows up. I'm like this truck cant just poop it out right now:) I don't want to wait. I've been wanting one for the last 4 years and was just waiting for the right dal and I figure I cant get any better then that. I see the box with top always on sale for $5000. But I got a extra $4100 for $2800 plus the drawers are the way I want them:)

Here are some pics of my new box. I never used to like this green, but i had only seen it with the chrome trim. When the Snap-on guy had one decked out with black trim I instantly liked it.

My mate will be putting his house up for sale in a couple of months so I'll have to move my stuff out of his garage eventually. I'll sell the roll cab and move my tools into this big box I got for £65 off Ebay:

Here is my 26 incher from Harbor Freight. I almost went with the 44 incher, but chose the 26 because I have a small rented garage and most of my tools are smalls for motorcycles anyway. The 44 incher was a better choice for a man with alot of case tools. I also have to fit my truck in here........

I posted the before photo of my Kennedy 277 Roller in another thread; I picked up a pile of Kennedy chests for a song. I got the roller for $20 because it needed some work. After three days of scrubbing, and a few parts from Kennedy, it *works* as good as new!

There is a little paint loss here and there... I also had to hammer out several deep dents on the bottom drawer that I couldn't get perfectly straight. What really surprised me was that the outside had a super thick layer of grease and oil buildup, but the inside was incredibly clean, as if it was always empty!

Well today I was out in the garage kinda :eyecrazy: and my girl friend came out and asked me what was wrong. I said that I think I may have chosen a tool box that was too small for future growth, as i knew there were several tools I had yet to purchase and I was nearing capacity of my current (6 week old) :scared: US General Pro 26 incher.

So she says I told you to get the 44 incher :headscrat Now I just checked harbor Freights return policy and evidently they have a 90 day no questions asked return policy :D So I may end up with a 44 incher by the end of the weekend.

I was never a fan of those huge tool boxes and have always worked out of a 26 incher. I have seen alot of guys that go way big on their tool boxes and they end up with a huge drawer with 5 pliers in them, or randomness that drives me bonkers. Even the 44 incher I am thinking of is gonna take some thinking to get organized the way I want.

I am hesitant to go with the 44 incher, but its looking to be a necessary evil.
