This is right below the electrical workcenter, and it's really just more electrical ****. I know most don't, but I LOVE electrical work.

Beautiful collection Walt! What is the terminal tool kit in the top left? Is it worth buying for VW stuff if I already have a VAS1978/18 and VAS1978/7A?

It's the Matco set. I've got the /16, /18, /4A, and /4B and never thought anything would replace them. The Matco ones do, hands down. Stronger and a bit longer. I love em.

Made a little wrench rack today, as I was sick of them looking untidy (this is all your fault, guys!)

Ok, so it's not the greatest (or neatest) achievement in the world, but it does the job. I have a fairly dense piece of foam I use as a kneeling pad, so I trimmed 3.5" off the end, and as it turns out, cut that bit in half and it's the perfect width for one of the small drawers (so I have another bit left over I could use for something else, or even another wrench rack if I add more). I was gonna do them leaning at an angle, but then for the sake of ease I put them straight. Just marked up where they needed to be, then drilled a 5mm hole from either side (drill bit wasn't long enough to go all the way through) and cut down to the hole with a utility knife. Not the neatest job, as a few of the widths are a bit off, and I got the angle wrong on one so it's on the piss a bit, but hey ho...

Just need to get hold of an 18 and a 15 now. I'm sure I had a 15, but must have lost it. Never had an 18 in this set (pretty sure) and I do have a random 18, but it's a cheap and nasty thing, that doesn't match (you guys fault again!) and is thicker than the Facom ones, so doesn't fit so nicely.

Sizes are 7-19 (sans 15 and 18 for now), all Facom 40 series

EDIT : correction - the 7mm is not a Facom 40 - it's a Draper something or other... Might have to buy a 7mm Facom 40 now too...!!!

Yeah, I still have/use the milwaukee 1/4" and 3/8" drive cordless ratchets. Nothing against them at all, but the Dewalts always had what I wanted at a great price. And, I have a Dewalt service center minutes from me, and I've never had an issue warrantying anything.[/QUOTE]

To the left of the tech-wrench in the back of the drawer, above the blue point set. Blue handle. Double sided. Handles all OEM front struts as well as any aftermarket bilstein/koni/whatever. Hollow through so you can hold the strut in place as you tighten it down. C'mon, you gotta do better than that. ;) (again, keep in mind, I ONLY do VW/Audi)

Good one. I got mine from Dad a year ago. He bought it about 30 years ago. I didn't even know they made them. ...and I think it's one of the FEW Snap On sockets that he had.

I also ended up with his mismatch of 1" drive stuff. I'll have to find me a 1" breaker bar just to mess with people.

Seriously, you have a nice set. But since you threw the gauntlet down I couldn't resist.

LOL. Funny you mention that. I also had a half complete set of mismatched 1" drive stuff. The OCD in me REALLY wanted to complete it. I got lucky and ran into a buddy that actually needed it so I was able to unload it before I wasted the money.

Once I get some pricing I will have to decide :) I think there is something called the Epiq workcenter.

I've got 2 epiq workcenters on my box on the last page. IIRC, there was about a $2500 difference between workcenter and upper box. When I custom ordered this box I almost got the upper box portion on the 60" side, but the OCD in me wouldn't let me. Yes, I realize that my single overhead doesn't cope well with my OCD either, lol. That will be addressed in the future. It was off my old box.

Posted my box awhile ago, and drawer pics were requested. Well, here they are minus a personal drawer, nut/bolt drawer, and a misc spare parts drawer:

.
.

I may not have the biggest/best box, but I can guarantee there ain't a tool in the world that might make my job easier/faster/better that I don't have.

VERY Nice! How do u like the Epiq Workcenter?

Wow Gasser, nice setup. Is it safe to assume you are a sheet metal/body guy?

Work center will just have a stainless steel top, with the outlets and possible lap top conpartment plus hutch. But Unless your box is the same size as an epic it wont fit. Epics are unusal sizes.

I'm not a big fan either. But it doesn't really bother me. I just couldn't pass up the deal I got on this box.

Are the matte boxes that much harder to keep clean? Is it not just a quick wiping down?

Gasser you must really hate switching out die grinder bits..that's quite a setup!!!
haha yeah, I do. It saves time too.

Thank you, and yes I guess you could say that.

They definitely show dust and finger prints more than the other colors. I use the spray detailer that Snap-on sells for matte finishes. It wipes down fairly easy.

Damn that's ****! Is that black trim or the titanium trim?
I finally got to order my box this week same one
Krl1033 flt blk w blk trim and matching krl1099 powercab ...:rocker:
It's the black trim. You will love it. I really like the drawer configuration.

Go Team Triple 7...:bounce:
Post more pics of her..You are pushing it by having it so close to that wall, I'd be scared that someone will bump into it and push it into the wall.
My casters don't lock well. Wanted to get the new ones I see on the newer boxes with the chrome looking accents I just dont know if they would fit. The casters on the 777 are 6" tall:headscrat
