Went on lunch and got it today. Littlebritishcar sent me a coupon in the mail to get it. Happy to have it and can't wait to get a locker for it.

Lol ya, I chained it to my box. My co-workers tend to "borrow" anything that isn't chained down... Lol

I think you know that's kinda pointless. Since you work in a shop all somebody would have to do is get a jack and jack up the one corner of your toolbox and take the stool and chain as one. Ive been in the same boat as you... my POS craftsmen tool box had no key to lock it so I took a couple heavy duty chains and chained it shut. Looked ghetto and I KNOW somebody could have cut the chain but if they did that I could have accused SOMEBODY of messing with my stuff VS. coming back from vacation and saying somebody went in my toolbox and "borrowed" something. God knows if I did accuse somebody of taking a tool management would be the FIRST to say "Well.. you shoulda locked up your box before you left."

Lol. That's gonna be a whole other issue if someone jacks up my box.. Heads are gonna roll!

Cannot remember if I've posted my box in here, 645 pages is a little to much searching.

Anyhow, My modest KRL1056. Paid 1600 large for it secondhand new.

Very nice setup. Is that just a home/DIY box or do you work out of it? Love the shadow organization, even if it does cost space.

Thanks buddy. I use to work out of it but brought it home once I got the garage done. I just use a mobile box at work as Iam a field mechanic these days. I was supplied with a 117 piece CAT service set for work. (And Canadian Tire expendable tools)

Am gonna buy a bigger Box soon although I promised myself I wouldn't.

Some of the beds are infact two piece so they fit into KRL skinny draws.

It's easy to fill a big box but not to fill it with SO stuff. I think maybe a triple bank full of foam will be my tool cap. And probably send me broke.

Hello all. This is my first post. I've been browsing this forums for months now. Love all the threads on here.
Figured I share my collection. I'm a 21 year old Ford/Lincoln tech. Only been wrenching for about a year and a half. Loving every minute of it.

Here's my classic 78 I got off craigslist for a steal!

Socket/ratchet drawer. Mostly SnapOn. All the swivels are Matco.

I got about 90% of these tools with my student discount from SnapOn and Matco. Had to take advantage of that while I had the chance.
Enjoy

SuperMegaCliff -- Welcome and nice box!

I wonder -- how much of a PIA is it to keep that white finish clean?

Any one have a macsimizer?? My mb1860's top drawer slides didnt have that little lock feel to them so my new dealer passed them on warranty. The new ones are horrible, anyone know who makes the older style ones the new ones are accuride and they ****. I would like to get the metal clip in the rear track and just repair the old ones. Sorry didnt wanna start a new thread nor hijack this one but this is the best thread! (New style is on the glove)

Heres a pic of what im referring to.....
aqure5uh.jpg

I got some replacement slides a couple months back for my MB1860 and they sent me the same cheesy slides  They did not handle the load of my top drawer very well and removed them immediately. The intermediate detents are **** and half the plastic adjustments were broken when they arrived (had them shipped). I couldn't find any markings on the slides other than the patent numbers on the detents which were owned by Waterloo. That's about as far as I got, been meaning to call them up..

Lol I also immediately replaced them with the old ones..... thanks for the info on the patent I was going to do some research too. Ill return the new ones to my dealer and prob call corporate or ask him to call his boss to find out. I wont replace of those slides untill I have the same type, all I want really is the black detent and clip. Let me know if you get any feed back and ill do the same.

Don't use them too often, but they'll are absolutely awesome when you really need them.

Just added a side cab to my KRL722 today. Now it's quite a wide box! I like having the extra work surface.

Nice. I've been toying with the idea of trying to get a side cab for my 722, like yours or maybe a powercab.

Gotta peel off that lock n roll sticker!! :D

I'll get a pic of this on the box tomorro but my good friend and fellow car club president works for a sheet metal company that does duct work. I gave him some simple plans/measurements and he made me a nice little stainless top for my 56" hf box and put a little hemed lip in the back

In the back I stuck a rivet on each end and one in the middle(aluminum rivet of course...wouldn't want a rusty rivet on that stainless top)

The center trim piece. It's aluminum angle. 1/8" thick 3/4" wide

I was given the top piece to this last christmas. I am finishing tech school for Diesel Mechanics in 7 weeks and I just bought my tools. I bought the bottom piece a couple days after I ordered my tools from snap-on.

I started putting tools in the box as they came in and about 3/4 of the way through it, my box was full. And I mean full. I had socket trays sitting on top of socket trays. I hadn't even received my 2 torque wrenches or my 3/4" general service set yet.

My 1/2 Torque Wrench comes in the mail aaaaaand this happens...

I can't have a $600 torque wrench sitting out and I can't go get my 1/2 torque wrench from my car every time I need it. I took the bottom box back to lowes the other day and now I'm going to be buying a box from matco. I can't decide if I want the double bay 4 series or the triple bay 4 series. The price difference is $500 (plus tax) for me (student pricing). I'm afraid the double bay will be full before I know it, lol.
