My new setup at work, KRL 722, KRA 2454 workcenter, and a KRSC 326 cart. After working out of my Craftsman Pro for nearly 12 years it was starting to show its age, so I let my Snap On guy know I was box shopping.

I found a couple used on CL that were not paid off yet and overpriced, the Snap On guy offered me a new KRL 1023 for 6500.00 which was a pretty good deal, but a bit more than I need, and I wanted a workcenter so it was going to end up being more than I wanted to spend.

Then he offered the 722 for 2995.00 so I jumped on that, it's smaller than my old box so the cart makes up for that, and I wanted the top compartment of a cart to keep my most used tools within reach without opening drawers all day. He knocked 20% of the work center and I built the work surface, so it all came out to less then the 1023 in the end.

I'm still moving in to it so no drawer pics yet.

Thank you, the KRSC will stay parked in that spot, it was a bargain compared to a side cab or a locker to gain the storage I need. I have three lifts in my work area so I don't have to move around the shop much, however I do have a small cart if needed.

Yes, it pulls straight out if needed, the big cabinets are bolted to the wall (earthquakes here) so the new stuff slid right into place, unlike my old box which required the forklift to move.

The bolts are left over spare parts. Navistar likes to send bolts for every project.
For example. The egr tubes on the back of the motor. They would send bolts with both tubes, now if you throw in an egr valve in there, they send a whole norther set of bolts. Same deal if you're changing out the cores in the egr coolers.

Yeah a lot of them are new, only a little over 2 years workin in a shop, so I have some building up to do

Got it for 5k. It is a slightly older model, but with this combination of box and work center it would have cost me 7k at student price and around 15k without.

So I think I got a pretty good deal.

-Turqoise Mac box is my first, lower half is sold. I still keep the top.
-Small blue box was my Field box, gave away.
-HF tool cart was my other first, also sold.
-Blue Montezuma was my first Large box at my new job, sold for my green Tool Vault one.
- I now keep my Green tool vault box (72x30) and Mac box at home.






The last photos, showing I have a knack for chaos. Changing jobs and buying a house plus moving in, still haven't finished the task of my garage after 9 months.




I need more photos of drawers in my green tool box. I'll do more on my return home. If you want to see most of my tool/toolbox photos, check my slideshow. In the 5-6 years I've had to provide my own tools at work, it shows my collections evolution/growth.

Interesting you mention navistar. At baker hughes, a friend of mine named Dan worked for a Navistar plant in Canada and Texas, he was a head of one of the assembly lines and one of their six sigma trained guys. I don't exactly know what his job tittle would have been, but it seemed an interesting job. Told me lots of stories of knucklehead guys doing dumb stuff. I think they shipped his manufacturing off to Vietnam, he said, and laid him/his plant off.

Nice KRL1023 90z, I could use a top hutch like that. I really like the white for some reason, it just looks great. I've seen them with the anodized blue handles, really looks good.

I just need to insulate and sheetrock my garage and put everything in its proper place. I have so many damn cars, jet ski, bikes, tools, etc, it doesn't all fit. I'll also need a compressor and a tire rack here soon. And I have an engine to put on a stand.. lots of work.

Classic box, design carried over from years past. Many will say it is not as well built as their larger multi bay boxes, which is true. Since you got it cheap

They're a great first box... when space gets a little tight the mid section 3 draw units slot right on top and are good value on ebay
