Is there a top till on that box? Looks like it but not sure. Nice looking set.
Yes. You are thinking of the KR1100 which was the flat top, top box for the KR1000.

Here is a peak in the top. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. If anyone would like I can take better ones with a regular camera.
It took me 9 years to find a matching top with out the separation bar between the drawers. I guess the KR1100 is the matching top with the flush key because the KR12OO has a dimple around the key.
sweet setup man those old boxes are tanks and looks like it's full of quality gear i wouldnt worry about a new box either unless your desperate for more room its got patina like a well cared for classic car
Nice box. Really nice color.Got it on Wednesday. Still trying to figure out how to organize things. Its my first big big box and I love it. KRL722

Dice of death?
Yeah the box has a launching device. He rolls the dice, picks a part, and the box will launch the part into the car. We call it throwing parts at cars because we can't afford those big boxes.....lol

Do i smell a Mr.Big?![]()
Nice box, but why the old style casters?Got it on Wednesday. Still trying to figure out how to organize things. Its my first big big box and I love it. KRL722
Nice box, but why the old style casters?
Bad pic, but here's mine with the newer wheels
Fresh from the powdercoat shop
Mind sharing what the powdercoating set you back? Who did the prep work? I have a full size box or two that I would love to have powdercoated a custom color, but was hesitant of the cost.Nice box, but why the old style casters?
I,v been following this thread for a long time and finally found some time to create an account and start participating to the forum, what motivated me is this community is much more respectful than most forum I'v seen and realized I wasnt the only one obsessed with tools and OCDing on my box.
This was my Husky 41" wich filled up quicker than I expected, I changed it not so long ago for a 72" top & bottom, I will make an entire thread about my current box once I get enough time to take pictures. But for now enjoy my first tool box, when I first bought it I thought it was big, until I begun buying more tools.

This is my first post although I have lurked for a few months. When I moved from AZ to CO last year the moving company destroyed my Matco box and five Craftsman boxes. After researching this site among others I decided to replace the boxes with Tool Vault boxes from strictlytoolboxes. I am extremely happy with the boxes. They are way better quality than my Craftsman boxes and nearly as nice as my old Matco box. The price vs quality ratio on this box is very good. So I’ve started organizing using magnetic drawer labels and foam. Obviously I am prioritizing organization over space optimization this time. My previous boxes were not very organized and I am tired of searching for and losing tools. I don’t use tools for a living anymore but I should have organized like this 30 years ago. Here’s my wall of Tool Vault.

oh. Your box is a triple bay. I think anything other than the 722 will have better casters.
Well thanks for joining. You are completely right.... The people on here are very respectful for the most part. Everynow and then there will be a cocky comment but that's pretty much it. On occasion we do have an ******* that makes their way on and most of the long time Vetrans on here are quick to spot them out. My favorite is when somebody new is on and decides to make fun because we have a 4 page topic going of something like "favorite way to position your screwdrivers in a drawer" and they decide to shoot us down and try to make fun. We pretty much get rid of them quick or ignore them so we can continue talking about screwdrivers!!
Remember this is a garage/tool forum so we talk about anything related of the nature and we probably covered a topic numerous times.
But anyways....WELCOME!

holyshit lol that looks badass
i have the same toolbox in the same color lol
I love this series. I would much rather have one of these with some patina than a shiny new Epiq.I bought the snap on kr1000 bottom about 9 years ago when I first got into heavy equipment. I finally got a kr1200 to put on top last week. Both are road warriors but they are built like tanks. My current diesel shop is littered with new boxes and I still prefer mine. The cheap HF side locker is a great value and has served me well. My current dealer got sick of replacing my spring wheels with the new torsions. I've have her packed to the max.
Impressive, 3 different roll cabs, 3 different intermediate boxes and 3 different top boxes, all red 26" Craftsman!
All assembled and put together
