Screwdrivers are OK, to be honest they feel like the Mastercraft cheap one. The Mastercraft Maximum series with clear handles are more quality than the GW set, what I find really random is that they included like 2 torx drivers in the set ?!?, I'm slowly switching all my screwdrivers for Snap Ons so this set will end up in my cart and the cheap Mastercraft will become history.

Ratchets are amazing, basically best bang for your buck. I'v tried a few Snap On, Mac, SK.... and honestly, I love the GW, major difference between the professional quality craftman / mastercraft and the GW ratchets. The 84 tooth w/ handles and 120XP are must have if you ask me.

Long reach pliers are extremely useful and well made, no complaints.

The wrenches are amazing, the open part tend to open a little when you use alot of force on em' (and I,m talking major leverage) but for the price its a good starter set before switching on expensive ones.

Files and gasket scrapers are really good, great quality at a good price too I would highly recommended.

Sliding hammer set, pulley tensioner set, and GM fan clutch kit, I haven't used em' yet since I bought them to replace a cheaper version I had.

The one thing I love about the GW stuff is it mostly comes in plastic trays which make the tool box organization way more easier and cleaner (thats a personal preference). Price is fair and they quality matches it for the most part. I wouldn't recommend the screwdrivers that much since I personally don't think they are that worth it, but for a home set it does the job.

Thanks for this response it will help a lot when deciding what tools to get. I want to get some 120xp ratchets for sure! and the reversible ratchet wrenches. Have you had any experience withe the ratcheting wrenches? These would be my so called "good" set. At 225 bucks for a 16 piece set.

Definatly, go for it. Those wrenches are really good for the price. I cant think of something in the same price range matching the quality, Maybe the Craftman professional but then again you might have missing sizes or run into quality issues. I'll stay with GW for ratcheting wrenches, next on my list are the GW 120xp XXL swivel long boxend wrenches, expensive but from what I heard they are amazing.

I need to get a magnet like that for my screwdriver drawer. Is it something specifically marketed as that, or something you repurposed? Details?

Thanks,

Matthew

Alright I believe now its the time to post mine, I'v been waiting because I had alot of tools purchased over the winter. So here it is, 72" wide 22" deep 69" Tall, I believe its a Frontier wich I paid around 3000$ canadian (duties + taxes + shipping + exchange rate) took the handles off and powdercoated them black. I choosed it mainly because I wanted a 72" top and botom and outside the big names here in Quebec Canada, you dont have any choice for 72" top & bottom at a resonable price. The quality of the box is good, nothing incredible but for a home box its more than perfect.

This is a home box and I'm planning to fully build costom cars and motorcycles. I do have more tools to come, slowly switching my cheap tools for Snap On, Mac, Proto... and this box will do untill I move out of this garage I rent and then probably buy a 84" Mac with a hutch and side locker.

Are you pliers racks purchased or home made?

Thanks,

Matthew

That's a nice looking box you've got.
What's the model number?

Thanks, It's a Proto 450HS 50", J455041-12BK. Got everything swapped over, but I will need to organize better to optimize space.

Haven't posted all of mine yet.

HF 44 has my commonly used stuff in it

Old craftsman was the first I ever owned -got it when I was like 9

Old snap on was a pawn shop find

Old mac was inherited from my grandfather

Waterloo was a swap meet find - craftsman middle chests were on sale and were needed for overflow at the time

Montezuma 36" is my truck box

Also have an old craftsman 5 drawer bench, an off brand 26" top chest, and a 4 drawer box with large cabinet attached that my grandfather built. I didn't get pics of those though since they aren't open much!

UPS Freight dropped this off today while I was at work. It's a Sunex 8057 in gloss black. It's much heavier duty than any of the tool boxes or service carts you'll see in any of the big chain stores. And, for me it has plenty of storage (for now). I even have one drawer that's totally empty. I taped a list of tools I need to buy next to the inside of the top.

Where did you buy it and what did it run you?

I've been looking at them on ebay...
