I can tomorrow, in for the night. It says "A successful day is being able to count to 10 without using your toes". It's a shorten version of a sign I saw in a sawmill basically saying don't cut your fingers off and all will be good.

Was about $120 AUD. Got them off a cheapie tool van that mainly sells the junk and cheap brands, been fantastic they've done a ton of work.

Here's my first real box, have had hand boxes prior to this. Picked it up yesterday off of facebook for $150, some guy bought it at an estate sale. I think I got a good deal. Will be perfect in my new shop. Not a mechanic, just like having tools if I need them. Do my own oil changes is about it.

If you could organize your tools all over again, how would you set this box up??

Good setup for the house and you got a descent deal. Just FYI, You can go to sears (or online) and buy a lock and key kit for all three of those boxes with the same key. I also ordered a key off ebay with my key code, was cut properly on an all metal ILCO key that fits the key ring much better than the plastic ones.

I can't tell by the picture but if that has the 3 narrow drawers across the top they're great for misc screws, bolts... It all depends what you need to fit in it & preference. I had a similar setup when I started wrenching. Whole top chest was supplies middle commonly used sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches. Bottom mostly heavy things & specialty. Best of luck & post some pics when you're done (well we're never really done)

Thanks guys, yeah once it's paid off the plan is to order a hutch, I love it, especially with th the titanium trim instead of the chrome or black.

I had the same craftsman and loved it till I upgraded to my classic 96 as well back in January. Mine is red with black trim. Almost paid off.

I love black boxes tho. Just wish the flat black didn't attract every fingerprint/grease smudge like they do

I'm cramped for space so I built a shelf behind my lathe where I could keep my Kennedy box. It was kind of a dead area otherwise and it put everything right in front of you.




The problem was the top storage area under the lid was now at eye level and it was difficult to find anything in there. The other issue I was having was the compass and dividers were always getting tangled up in their low flat drawer and just didn't store well. I decided to try to mount them in a wrench rack type of arrangement along with my combination square set, vernier callipers and steel rules, all things that didn't fit well in the shallow drawers as they just took up too much space. The verniers were a hassle to open the drawer, remove the case, then the tool, then go through that in reverse when done with them. Now they are all at your fingertips ready to grab in a second and stored on edge they don't take up too much space in the low drawers.




I cut slots in styro to mount all this stuff on edge along with some of the tall blocky type tools that didn't fit well in the drawers. As I'm fairly new to lathe work and still learning I'll undoubtably keep adding new tools and changing things but for now this is working out great.

This is my home box, still waiting for Snap-On to deliver the KRL 7023 triple bank with a stainless top

Before today it was so dull it did not reflect anything. It's an old made in USA Waterloo Homeowner Series box with friction sliders. Some polish and elbow grease and it looks much better! It still has plenty of character marks which I won't touch, it's been through a lot before it was given to me. Every drawer is full to the top with layers of tools. I really need the new box, I have some other crappy ones full to the top plus my workbench literally has a mountain of tools on it.

Here is mine. I used to be a dealership tech for Detroit Diesel and Komatsu, now I work at a college so they don't get used as much as I would like. It's a KRL1032 with stainless top (I have my vinyl cover sandwiched under the top and roll it up when I am working out of the box). Not a ton of special tools as the shops usually provided those, I chose to spend my money on the big iron. I have sockets up to 3-1/4" in 1" drive and wrenches up to 2-1/2" (buried in the bottom of the big wrench drawer), though now I am starting to catch up on automotive specialty tools as I come across the need maintaining my stuff. I also have a KRA4107 I keep in the house for common automotive work out in the carport.
