I see youre in Chicago. UTI perhaps? Where are you working at?
I'm in Triton College, doing the Toyota T-TEN program. Right now trying to find a dealer for the apprentice work part for the second year. We have 'regular' Auto Technology degree, GM and Toyota programs at Triton, but we all take pretty much the same classes, GM guys also have extensive web and video training. I think GM is light years ahead when it comes to technician training, they seem to realize that you gotta start the building process from the foundation instead of the top floor! Now, Toyota is re-structuring their training to keep up with GM! Although I'm originally from europe (yes i think in metric and have an accent

) and share the common international disinterest towards american cars, i think the worst for GM is over, pendulum is starting to swing the other way.
Doing great in school, straight A's and stuff but the hiring people couldn't care less about the grades or school, everybody seems more interested in how many tires i busted, how many front ends i replaced, etc... I got 4 ASE certs, working on the rest...
I kinda thought it'd be nice to get a manufacturer credential with the 2-year associate degree, since it's free. So, looking for both GM and toyota dealers right now, but even with my instructor's references, no luck so far.
Anyways, here's couple of photos from my last craigslist score, only $45 !
Cleaned it up, lubed the casters, sliders, applied eastwood's rust encapsulator on the bottom, and brushed a little into the stamped date and code... This thing is almost double the thickness when compared to the ones displayed at sears right now. I know i'm too young to say this but sure enough they don't make them like they used to no more! Sadly enough I don't have any extra tools to fill it up, gotta start working on my second set of tools...
