To me matte looks good on everything as well lol. Wrapping a cheaper tool box would of been the smart way to go, unfortunately for me I'm a little dumb lol

Don't beat yourself up over that great 68" Epiq. You are a pro diesel mechanic so you need a good mobile box. I'm just a homeowner that plans on getting a 56" HF bottom then top eventually, and never really move it.

Your Epiq will last 2+ lifetimes, my HF 20yrs if I'm lucky. I don't even think they offer replacement slides for it.

Consider me a jealous of your Epiq, I'd love to own one.

Are you a 12v installer? The blue and green wire bundles look like the ones from aftermarket door lock actuators.

Yea. Those are like less than $10 at cost where the OEM is much more. I have installed many over the years. Adding them to vehicles without factory locks and replacing OEM Motors with these. Which I also hate doing. Nice box. I almost bought the same one anew years back. I like the Cornwell boxes because of their drawer pull system. Plus they are just really nice and the custom series comes with the stainless top. All others it was extra and not cheap. I want to find a new Cornwell dealer and buy some stuff and would love a new box.

That's a great setup. A whole lot of chrome in that top drawer! Is that only metric?

I think that was most of them. The other drawers just have piddly stuff in them. You guys have some sweet set ups on here for sure!

Just setting up in a new shop. I'll post some drawer pictures after I get them arranged again

Being from NJ myself...not sure how I'd feel about those windows. Looking forward to the drawer pics!

Besides ADT, 10 cameras and lets just call it 'personal security' we feel pretty secure. In addition bars will be installed in the next few days

The Matco is a hand me down from my best friend who is a mechanic that runs his owns shop. It's what I have put togther over the past few years, mostly all Craftsman and gearwrench. The two old Craftsman boxes, my Gdad gave me. The shorter one is all metric, the taller one is all standard plus specialty tools. I thought I'd consolidate it all into one big big box, but I've been pulling tools out of those Craftsman boxes since I was a kid, so they stay.

What are those tapered metal socket trays with the flip-up handle?

Guess I'm showing my age ( or my tools are hahaha) But that's what sockets came in long ago before the plastic trays they come in now, the 4 red ones are Mac, one other is Wright and I think at least two are Matco and the rest are Snap On

Ooh, okay. I was wondering what they were. I didn't realize the handles were plastidipped, I thought they might be something from Klein that I didn't know about. I have a couple pairs of straight pliers like that. The thin jaws come in handy sometimes. I will have to keep an eye out for angled ones like yours, I can see a pair or two being useful in my toolbox.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I can easily pass over socket drawer and wrench drawer pics, but a drawer full of pliers always has my attention. I just can't pass them by for some reason.

Never saw them either till a few years then I started buying every pair I saw at the flea market. They do come in handy every once in awhile

I feel like I belong in the minor leagues, I'll post some pictures after I get better organized.

I'm still using the gray plastic Craftsman socket organizers. They are to the point, now that they are taking up too much space

This is my current work box from Sidchrome. It's a good combo but I've run out of room in it having to stack tools ontop of tools. Almost all Snap-On/Bluepoint/CAT.

I'll be replacing it at tax time with a 42" Maxim roll cab.

I bought the 42" Husky chest and filled right quick. I'm looking at getting a cart to wheel over to the car.
