Very nice box! What model is that? How does the Snap on compare to the Tech Series?

Thanks, sorry about not getting back to you sooner but 12 hours days this week have been killer, especially in 90 plus degree heat. But to answer your question my new box is a model KERN843B in gloss black with blue trim.

There is little comparison between a tech series and an epic. I could have put my tech series in the top drawer of my epic. I liked my tech for years, till it became overloaded and I started eating drawer slides monthly. I would buy a tech series for at home, it would be great for that. But for the big boy the epic is awesome.

The tech series was really nice to start out but the height of the box and depth difference in the drawers are what seem to be just massive between the two as I was probably about 3/4 in the tech series box and now im only about maybe 1/2 full. all because of the depth I have in the drawers I can organize my tools better.

JUNK-MAN, nice boxes. You need some wrench racks. Also for drawer lines the Yoga mats from $5 Below, make great liners. I did my whole S/O box in them, pretty cheap, and work well.

ordered my first "new" box monday, its a Snap-On 84" with a locker triple full drawer and a stainless steel work top, yellow with black trim and black wheels. super stoked

Can't wait to see a pic of this when you get it. I haven't seen an Epiq in the Yellow with Black Trim yet. My KRL is this color combo and if/when I upgrade I'm unsure if i would switch to Orange or Red w/ Blk trim. If yours is the 84" with 3 wide drawers is it going to have the Powercab for the third bank or drawers?

Junk Man if you get a pliers rack it will free up so much space. I bought one last week and I'm kicking myself for not getting one sooner.

I don't think they will fit then the drawer is very shallow somewhere like 1 1/2, Though I would like to get wrench racks.

Once you get both the wrench rack & pliers rack maybe you can switch drawers as your current wrench drawer appears to me to be deaper. The pliers rack I bought needs a drawer 2 1/2 inches deep.

Thanx!

You could try modifying a length of wire shelving. That's what I used and I'm pretty sure it's shorter than that.

I thought of that also as I could use the space but only a couple of my pliers will fit that way all the larger ones still would have to lay. As for wrench racks what are good ones? Preferably low profile ones. I think the wrench drawer is like 2 1/2" ish? Thanks!

Ernst for the low profile wrench racks. I have numerous ones they are great.

+ 1 for the Ernst wrench racks. Re-organized my wrench drawer with these recently. If you look at their whole line they pretty much have a solution for every wrench set.

These are mine. The plant I work at requires that I move my box to what ever machine is broken so I have a cart with my basic and most used hand tools in it and my fabrication and spacialty stuff stays in the snap on box. I have had these boxes since 2006 the snap on was my dad's who has been a forklift tech for the last 28 years so it has seen some use. The tip box was bolted to the floor of a work van for about 15years so I had to do some major repairs to it to even use it but it does the job.

Nice work. Greetings from a fellow Ukrainian but inside US. I am the first generation to be born here. Biggest regret is not learning the language

Went to a store called Fabricland, chose the material I wanted, went to a seamstress and had it made, way cheaper than buying 1 from SO.

Damn I wish I thought of that. Just ordered cover from snap on after almost losing my mind when I went to shop and found my box covered in yellow overspray.
How much did it run all in all do you figure?

Hah yea I have always loved snap on's royal blue. I been getting my balls busted by coworkers (I have the only snap on box in shop aside from the owners which is a very old Krl). All in all though I would say snap on boxes really do have a definitive edge over many other brands in regard to build quality. Using their boxes you can just feel they are going to last. Can't wait to get a hutch when I pay the bottom off

I have since added some more tools and gone away from the gp cases and put them on rails

What snap on box is that? It is crazy how the Matco dwarfs it

KRA 5319 it's 53 wide by 18 deep, I got a good deal on it through the college and used it through college but I hated the drawer layout so I bought the matco it's only a 4s but it's 72x25 and works much better for me with room to grow

i didn't want a powercab because you lose too much drawer space. most of my impacts I keep in my roll cart. but I plan on putting the power strip in the locker for my big multicharge Milwaukee battery charger

I finally cleaned up a bit and took some pics since taking down a wall... so my new digs some stuff is still getting moved. My wrenches are in Rolls and my specialty tools are in limbo right now.
