Very nice finky198.....looks like you have a good collection of many brands of tools which is what I like to see! Harbor freight right beside some snap on.

Thanks ^^^ I see it as there are a lot of quality brands now a day. Each company gets and few thing right and I try to purchase those items when the value is there and if it's not I find a way to save money.

Yup the list of brands goes on and on... They all seem to get along well tho...

I finally cleaned up a bit and took some pics since taking down a wall...

Love your bench man. Looks like a really well thought out balance of tools. And they look like they have all earned their keep!

Did you make your pry bar holder? I love how simple it is.

Thanks ... The bench was kind of a step by step process I'm still moving and adjusting things. I'd like to put a shelf underneath it and on top for additional storage. A little extra lighting is next on my to do list.

Yes the prybar holder is homemade out of some old pallet racking... Here's a pic before it got mounted. I enlarged the holes with a carbide burr on a die grinder.
It holds my snappy 6" 12" 18" 24" 36" curved, 12" 24" 36" straight, All my 1/2" extension even a 36" and SL80, SF80A.

I finally cleaned up a bit and took some pics since taking down a wall... so my new digs some stuff is still getting moved. My wrenches are in Rolls and my specialty tools are in limbo right now.

OVERALL Shot... wooded bench Aluminum Truck box and a Pelican 0450 tool box.

Tools that are actually used! Nice collection Finky

I'm seeing a well setup bodymans box. Not to mention, one that is pretty good at his craft. Otherwise, he wouldn't have this set-up....in my opinion :p

I just got this KRA2407 in for at home. I'm still working on the organization of it. I had planned on doing a 44" box from Harbor Freight but got this one on such a steal of a deal that the Harbor Freight wasn't worth it, even at the low cost to build quality ratio.

I need to pick up some wrench racks and various small trays and what not to organize socket extensions/adapters, and do a few other things.

You can't tell us what a great deal you got and not how much it was. :):)

I've been a long time lurker. A lot of the posts throughout the GJ forums have helped me figure out my personal shop, tool and box selection.

Here are my main boxes - The yellow Mac cart works great for my motorcycle racing - fits in the garage of the 5th wheel and holds everything I need and then some.

Picked up the KRL7022 off of CL for a deal that I couldn't pass up

I'm just Going to give you a heads up as I have the same box look @ post #19484 and I had the foam, but to be honest it wastes so much space that if its not critical that you use tool control I would avoid it... By keeping my box filled stuff doesn't really move around much at all anymore and I fit aprox 3 times the amount of tools.

Now that would just make you cry. But I can say it was low enough that I didn't even care to keep considering a HF box for my home garage.

Appreciate the heads up. Two completely different applications for the tool boxes. I doubt mine will see a work bench for a long, long time. Between freight, general travel in my job trailer, etc. there was no way to not have foam. The point of this box wasn't volume, thats what the other tool boxes are for.

That's cool yeah I don't travel much with my tools anymore. When I do I put 1/8 foam sheets down over each drawer and it holds most of it in place... I'm glad to see someone really using there case/box to its potential. Can I ask what you do? And how they've held up...

I'm a big fan of pelican and have a bunch of the micro case, as well as 2x 1500ems, 1600, 2x 1660 and my 0450

Work in Oil and Gas primarily, but service all industries in one form or another. Mechanical Integrity is my specialty.

Here is a thread I started a while back about pelican cases:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=334184

We have been using them in one application or another since the late 90's, still have a few of the original impossible to open latch cases floating around. Their warranty is the best a person can find for rough use, call them up and tell them part XYZ broke on the case and generally a new one is sent right then. If it is a major component (lid or body) they request you send it to them for replacement, people in the past would call in to receive "warranty" parts just to build a case for free.

Same here, I am obsessed with seeing other peoples setups! I'll even stop when walking by other bays to sneak a peak while coworkers grab their tools. HAH!

Just added the locker to my setup so I spent the day organizing everything.

First off, Very nice setup and box Tim. Truly an expansive setup there and I always enjoy a little reassurance that I'm not alone in my tool OCD.

Also nice use of those clear IKEA organizers. I spotted those in there cuz I think we bought 5 of those for $2 ea @ some point and they found their way into drawers all over the whole house.

So just 2 quick questions:

1.) It took me a minute to realize your box was a KRL because of those awesome looking drawer guards you have on there. My KRL is yellow with black trim but I always have to wipe greasy fingerprints off the drawer pulls. Any info or part #'s on those?

2.) What is that bulk drill bit set at the back of one of you narrow drawers on the right side. Also are those decent bits for general use? Seems nice there are larger quantities the smaller you go. Disposable is fine I guess as long as they aren't terrible....??

Thanks

well after several weeks of waiting the new box has arrived. This is my last one I hope as I approach 50. Hopefully this one will get me to the end. Rock and Roll truck was here in June and I custom ordered this three bank epic with bottom and top. Gloss Black with gunmetal trim color. It truly is really the nicest and largest box I have ever had and after thirteen different Snap On and Mac boxes in a 30 plus year career now I have to say it is pretty sweet.

Hello everyone, here's my set up. That's just my everyday stuff. Have some cool vintage snap-on stuff at the home garage. I have a big tool addiction, I'm glad I found this forum.

That's one sweet set up scooter. Your comment about it being your last box.......hopefully. Well best of luck on that one bud, I said the same thing earlier this year when I built my Lista set up. So here it is 8 months later and I got me doubts already. :)

I know what you mean LX, I may add a locker or two in a few years but I know as for boxes I hope this is it. I almost bought a Mr. Big but truth is I don't have room at the shop for it and if I ever had to move it I do not know what I would do about that as well. "Hopefully" this is the last.

Very nice scooter. We need some drawer pics when you have time.

Love all the green, Tim. Fantastic setup.
Will do the full drawer pic set up when I get it like I want it, I am still arranging and then making changes left and right but hopefully soon I will have it all set up and will then do the full display for the boards approval so to speak!
