I like the before and after. I love my KRL Snap-on box but one of my oil techs has a box just like your old one and it is a solid setup. Hopefully if you've gotten rid of it already you didn't givev it away. There is definitely alot of value there still.
Nice first post BTW. Nothing like a new Snap-on toolbox to bring you out of lurking.

Yes, just some pieces to level out the boxes, garage floor is uneven. Are those shims under the wheels or something else?
Coach
Thank you! I will make another post with some pics of the hutch build soon. The boxes are not fastened together at this point, I haven't decided if they're staying in that area of the garage. With the wheels locked and the weight of the benchtop/hutch/tools, it's pretty solid, may not fasten them together. That is a great looking setup. I would also like some details of how it was made. Boxes connected together? Any photos of building the hutch?
Thank You!Might be my favorite setup on this thread..great job
Thank You! I will post some pics of the hutch build soon, I've had a few questions on it. I haven't connected everything together yet, it's all just resting there. It's surpringly solid without fastening any of the pieces together, but I'll probably bolt/screw everything into place once I make a decision on where it's staying for good.Nice setup there. How did you put it together? Did you bolt the 2 44's together and hitch just resting on top?
Thank You! I agree, the snap on/Mac/Matco boxes are awesome, but not in my budget. I'm not a pro mechanic, just work on my own stuff, so this setup exceeds my needs. I'll post some details/pics on building the hutch soon and yes, it was under $1000. I haven't added everything up, but I think it was around $850-$900 total.

Here is my shade tree special 46" 9 drawer Husky. Most of the sockets are craftsman that I bought with my first tax refund check in 1999 when I was 17. Ive added some SK and Proto to replace some of the lost or broke pieces. I just received the Aircat 805-HT 3/8 air ratchet today. I believe it will truly do the rated 130 ft lb of torque. I torqued an engine cradle bolt down to 123 ft. lbs using my Snap On ATECHFR250B torque wrench, and was able to back it out without a problem.

Updated my toolbox. Finally installed the hutch.
Why the gap between the top lockers and the hutch ?
I had to lift the top boxes to slide the hutch in. I just haven't lowered them back down on the hutch yet.

Congratulations on that feat. After many years on here and lots of late night scrolling through this thread I've probably still only seen half of it. Welcome to Garage Journal btw. Now all you have to do is post some pics of your setup.Started at page 1 and made it up to current. Some great stuff here. I have become addicted to this thread.....please keep posting to keep it going!
That thing is junk you need to send it to me so I can dispose of it properly! I'll pay shipping![]()

Got me a new HF US General 56 top & bottom. Couldn't be more happy with it.
Ive had it for 3 weeks and have had trouble finding time to fill it up with my job and a 16 month old. Ive lubed the slides with WD40 white lithium grease with made a huge difference. Here are the pics so far....

I love the green colour. Nice layout. Are those carbon gasket scrapers? How do you like them?Had the mac triple bank tech series and since i have little kids who goto bed early, i wanted a hutch really bad. that way, on busy day i can leave everything on the top and lock it and go home in time to see my kids before their bed time. that being said, the tech series is way too low for a hutch, and i didnt wanna put it on blocks, so.... had to go bigger. what do you guys think?
