Not as prestigious as some of the nice boxes in this thread, just picked this up - Husky 52" box that was on sale this memorial day at the orange store.

Well, I just set this up:

attachment.php

My wife got me this for x-mas. My intent was to build a shed this spring for the outdoor equipment that's cluttering the third garage bay, and turn that bay into a workshop. But instead I decided to get a hernia and have surgery, so it's gonna be a while before there's any shed-building in my future. So last weekend, before the surgery, I set this up elsewhere in the garage and tidied everything up as best I could. Put a shelf up over it to hold cased power tools; there are a few more up there now than there are in that picture.

Here's some drawer detail:

As someone else said, it's not as prestigious as some, but I'm reasonably happy with everything, although I need a better socket storage solution than the Horror Fright trays I set up with initially, and I'm pretty sure the upper cabinet was someone else's first; there are light scratches on the drawer handles, the lock no workee, and the upper compartment mat was missing. I don't care about any of those things except the mat; I need that, and Kobalt has promised to send me one.

I have the same box and love it. Enjoy removing the stickers.

I tried the one on top top cabinet magnet and it came off disastrous. I don't know why they think putting those permanent type on is a good idea

Any tips? Figure some goof off or a heat gun.

That glue is a mess. I got a 27" stack around thanksgiving and still haven't got all the stickers and glue off. And I have solvents and cleaners that take 100 years of grease off industrial process equipment damn near instantly.

Used a heat gun and they came right off.

My Glue removal regimen is
  • Heat (hot sunny day works... and works best on complete stickers)
  • Naphtha/Lighter fluid/white gas/Coleman fuel (all the same basically)
  • Olive oil (Amazing!)
  • Peanut butter oil (old fashioned is best)

I'm going to have to try some of those. My list gets to the harsher solvents pretty fast.
  • Heat
  • Methyl Alcohol
  • Varsol / Paint thinner
  • Brake cleaner
  • Air Intake cleaner
  • Lacquer thinner
  • Acetone
  • Xylene
  • MEK

The last ones need to be tested to make sure they don't destroy your finish.

Stickers themselves came off reasonably well with heat gun, but the glue...
I try solvents where it won't show, and if I get any color off, it's no go.
Hadn't thought of vegetable oil type stuff. Knew I didn't want to be smelling WD-40.

I sold my craftsman and snap on boxes to buy the 56 inch harbor freight set. Nothing wrong with either box just taking up to much space. I sold the old boxes and bought the new ones with pennies to spare. I couldn't be happier with the new box.

I had recently sold my home box, a Mastercraft top and bottom combo and was in the market for something different. I found this Beach top box on the scrap pile at work. It appeared to have taken a tumble out of the back of a truck. I brought it to the shop and half *** fixed it up. Figured it would work well in my home garage. Threw it on the bench and loaded er up, worked out great!

Hey guys

I'd like to show you my Hazet toolbox.
It is the Assistent 162c.
The tools are from Hazet, Gedore, Dowidat, Matador, Wera, Stahlwille, Padre and Knipex.

I love to buy tools from my hometown Wuppertal (Wera, Knipex, Stahlwille) and the neighbour cities Remscheid (Hazet, Gedore, Matador) and Wermelskirchen (padre). This region is also known as Bergisches Land and famous for its tool production.

I am very happy with my Toolbox but I'm thinking about buying a new one with drawers. Maybe the Hazet Assistent177 or 179.fd269279576ca59be4995c51b4c61297.jpg82ea637f4e4dca08d98b4d624e763e99.jpgab76dada5a4aba06dac6374e4edbacda.jpg209ec42addcff6d565b9ee1c20f59a89.jpgc8597cfead02d2b0a0fb05e95b532424.jpgf7e07e0d4ab9eaf388fd50e3df915419.jpg

Very nice. Do the tools come out in trays or do you have to put them back one at a time?

The tools stay in the tray. So this kind of tool box is not as comfortable as a tool box with drawers. Furthermore under bad light conditions it is hard to find the right socket for example.

Thanks for the update. I could see an upside / downside to both options. Nice cart and the rubber/plastic looks sweet for working around vehicles and other things these things can bump into.
