I like the green thing with the hutch, its pretty. I like the black Matco too. I don't want to open drawers for everything. I want to change this to a HF44 and build a hutch for it with angle tools like that.

Not to hi-jack--but are boxes from all of the truck brands about the same cost?

I can only speak from my personal experience, and I have only ever bought one brand and never even got competing quotes from the other tool truck guys (mostly because I only bought stuff already on big discounts and the other tool guys had nothing similar to offer at the time).
From the guys I know around the industry and our work-neighborhood / other shops, it sure seem to me like it's all about the same....I always figured it makes sense that all 3 or 4 tool brand dealers are coming around the shops trying to sell to the same group of mechanics, so prices are just like most any consumer goods - pretty close for like-sized / like-quality products.

what ive seen over the years ive been working in shops, many times dealers come and go, and ive run across more than one dealer with a ****** attitude.

seems like most guys buy from whatever dealer is easiest to deal with. cost is a factor as well, and now with all the pretty colors, ("back in the day" all boxes were red) theres a lot more choices of color, drawer configuration, and options.
add the fact that there's a lot more options out there than there used to be.

years ago i saw a lot craftsman a few SO, matco, and mac boxes, and occasionally a MBC at the various dealers ive been at.

seems like now it's SO, HF, milwaukee, or husky

I love to buy tools from my hometown Wuppertal (Wera, Knipex, Stahlwille) and the neighbour cities Remscheid (Hazet, Gedore, Matador) and Wermelskirchen (padre). This region is also known as Bergisches Land and famous for its tool production.

Living in Wuppertal would be my dream!!!:drool::drool::drool:
The mecka of the best tools in the whole world!!!
Lucky you!

By the way, here is my "toolbox" at my work:

Post your location. Prices vary greatly on this stuff depending on where you are.

There's a lotta bachco goodness going on there decaf. Now I can understand having multiples of a single size, especially in various configurations but please help me understand why you would have a half dozen of the same exact wrench? Also that is one clean set up, I like it!

but please help me understand why you would have a half dozen of the same exact wrench?

That´s a good question, and i will try to answer it.

I bought my first set of Bahco M1952 (7-19mm)around 2007 (for market price 150 USD), after 2 years i went to Bahco outlet and found this set for 25 USD(!!!) instead of 150 USD, i mean, comon, i can´t resist that price...so i bought 2 sets.
Then a year or so later i found a set on a Swedish ebay site for 20 USD(!!!), i mean, i know what this set is worth so i had to buy that set to:lol_hitti
The bigger sizes 20-36mm have i also found on this Swedish ebay site for almost nothing at all, people doesn´t know when it is quality tools, better for me...
I mean the biggest sizes 32-36mm i bought for 5-10 USD a piece(mint con), they are worth
70-110 USD a piece :headscrat

Hope its a good answer?

The funniest thing about my tools are all the comments i get everytime i open my toolcase by my customers.
Last week a girl stood and was paralized of what she saw, the comment i got was: "I want a toolcase like that too because it looks like you can repair a powerplant"
:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Here is the toolcase, if you haven´t seen it before:

Nice setup . is this a work box ? I have that same impact next to the kawasaki one I believe it is a devibliss ( made by the paint gun people ) decent little impact. also have that same short air ratchet.
I'vw owned that impact for many years now, don't even remember where I purchased it from. I rarely use air tools any longer. This is at my home, I do work on motorcycles from here.

1foxracing - Is that a Wright breaker bar at the front of the drawer?

Here is one I picked up Craigslist. When I first got hired into GM in 1977 these are the toolboxes all the skilled trades had, or a slight variation depending on which trade you were in. This one belonged to a machine repairman. Upon completion of your apprenticeship you were given a toolbox. This one was built about 1983 by the tin knockers. It is very heavy. The steel is 12 gage. I've started cleaning it up and cutting off the extranious pieces I won't need. New casters are supposed to arrive later this week. Then some fresh paint. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Perhaps take to work and bring the Kenndy home.

Currently renting a townhouse so one corner of my living room doubles as my tool storage / work space. Since i joined this forum I've moved from craftsman sockets to all SK sockets except for the metric impacts. Wright for the standard and MAC for the deeps.

I've had the Harbor Freight bench for a few years now and it's served me well, the bottom shelf holds my Dewalt circular saw and sawzall, Snap-on 3/8 impact and 76 pc tap/die set, along with torque wrenches and empty tool bags/boxes5bd9cc2715da8e6ac89dbd8748f52832.jpg5e5db206e054145bd590278235d0e63f.jpg25b70425eaaedd48e2decc1d02fcd5da.jpgc070d3b647302b7b454656697d117e85.jpg1288ebded9082dba92f8243f9875cfcd.jpgb94165dd1edbe03c790154cb8c8c2220.jpg4060a146ab0fbef0f89dc31ac10e1021.jpg588edb07b7f6f9629c9d02898b819bcc.jpgdc46c8238e0560be421a7312032fbcc4.jpgbe6ae1c6f5394df32f1533272c419802.jpg5d4a26bc9ccca2faff87c750f2ba656a.jpg18376a8fc5cf080b1dce0fdb65ab485e.jpg203fae9d8a55d884448ad4ce91a13643.jpg9114de5636b75639130f3303f541f18b.jpgd63792d09e20784121acd9d61a9b80a1.jpg

Then a year or so later i found a set on a Swedish ebay site for 20 USD(!!!), i mean, i know what this set is worth so i had to buy that set to[emoji38]_hitti

Here is the toolcase, if you haven´t seen it before:

Them were Allen keys are by far the best I have ever used. I don't think I could go back to anything else. Nice case and set up I am really jealous.

Jupp, cheap allen keys can be the worst thing, you definitely need quality when it comes to allen keys.
So i also prefer Wera but i´ve heard that Bondhus makes nice ones too?
