Here's mine and the rule is nothing over $75. I'm not worthy of the good stuff, I just don't tell my tools they're living in the slums.

My stuff is cheap too, the main box I use I paid 75 for 25 years ago. I did buy this new in about 82 or so with a big tool set. It was not the boxes it came with, it cost a couple hundred more but was a lot bigger.
Its loaded with some specialty and extras, so heavy I took the wheels off and I don't move it anyway for use.

Is it a full 1 to 1 scale replica or a mini box?

I assume your asking about my post -- that stack is about chest-high. Look close at that first pic and you can see the pallet under it and the KRL box across the bay behind it.
The top box weighed enough it was almost a struggle to get it out of the box and the bottom actually has roller slides. I guess a person could just use it as a regular tool box, if they wanted to, though it'd be a little small by most standards today.

Yes I was asking about yours. I have seen the orginal boxes and they were not huge, all be it about the biggest tool box you could by in 1939. If you say chest height and about 30" or so wide, I'd say it's full size.

I also cleaned up the plier drawer, absolute hate the wire plier rack. I could see it being more efficient if I had a longer drawer, but I also hate bending over. (6'4") 20180423_181403.jpg

That rack will work better if you use it the right way. working end of the pliers at the tall part. Put it against the back of the drawer, too.

Do you put the ends above or below the divider? They hit the box with them on the top

All the retail photos I've seen show the pliers in this direction. I may back it up to the drawer wall and see if it changes anything.

No, I'm thinking backwards (I had to go look at mine...) mouths toward the small end, but the big side against the wall. Makes a big difference.

Not sure if gray is just in vogue right now or what but it's quickly becoming my favorite color for anything in the shop. Which kidney did you have to give up for that box if I may ask?

I'm so tired of Tool grey! Anymore for me its "Anything but grey!" (I painted EVERYTHING I restored in Tool grey for >20 years...)

(Nice box BTW, just not my preference for colors anymore)

Both actually!

I love the gray. And no matter where you put it it looks good.

I guess things have just been catching my eye. Outlawmws I guess anything gets old after a while, gray just looks like it belongs in a shop to me. Plus the blues and greens that get used are too pukey (looking at you lista/vidmar) and I like red for my toolbox but anything else is just too "in your face"- how I feel today and subject to change next year.

My new 84" epiq. Storm gray to match my krl1022.

I'm not due for an upgrade until the sale of my left arm goes through but I'll have to keep this one in mind. White with black trim had been appealing but this looks just is good with less down side of dirt making it look like ****.

Boss told me I need to post my new box. Working on filling it up now. Just ceramic coated it today to protect it.
