a few days ago i found a review on the new huskys and the new us general boxes. the us generals were thicker and had bigger castors and a heavier overall capacity. something like 6600 for the us general and 2500 for the husky, i’ve been researching this like crazy lol now i’ve thrown masterforce in the mix and have now idea what to do
I couldn't tell in person on the subject of gauge thickness. Also, with the harbor freight one, it was twice the price of this one.

I don't know if I read the same review, but ended up with the same knowledge on the HF - thicker gauge steel, beefier castors AND stronger connection points for the castors allowing for only four castors instead of six. You can also increase the storage of the 44" by an additional 18" for only $299. A few buck more than the Husky (and I really like the Husky's garage on top), but I liked the lack of a pivot point and thicker gauge construction.

HF has ALL boxes on sale for 15% off. No limits, no exclusions. I think the sale ends today. I grabbed a full set of 44" plus the 18" plus a Yukon workstation. Almost $200 in savings.

But if you the Black Friday price of $399 is better than normal price of $479 minus the 15% coupon, so unless your store has them priced below $479 it's better to wait.

Just picked this up today. Got sick of waiting and the price going up so bit the bullet and brought it home. 842d7707c9fd1d555b425ab501fbd1b6.jpg

Father's day, 698 is what I paid for mine. I couldn't believe when I saw them for 898. I think they marked it up to 898, just so they could "mark it down" to 798 for the black Friday deal

There is a shallower (20" ?) and a deeper version (22" ?) of the same box. The HD near me had both in the store at the same time during the transition. And there was a price difference of a couple hundred between the two.

Don't know if that's the case here but maybe?

The Black Friday ad for 2017 had them on sale for $598 down from $698.

Masterforce .
If the drawer layout on 72" works for you then it a winner, build and features big step above HF or Husky . 1199 about cheapest see if do price reduction and rebate together .
Is worth the little extra, 2" deeper, proper drawer latching system, warranty ect ect

Just picked up this 36in Husky box for $378 out the door yesterday. I don’t do any major mechanical work, just some home improvement and some brake changes. I struck out at HF on Black Friday on the 44” box. So this worked out for me considering the husky was $498 on Black Friday.

I really liked this box when I saw it at Home Depot. If I had room I would have bought it.

I’m just a home DIY’er so a small 26” wide box for me. As you can see, I’ve expanded twice to the top chest and side box. I’m still running out of room and need to reorganize all my tools so I have room once again. Trying not to upgrade to a 44” one for space reasons.

Lot of bare wall space. Use it wisely!

Absolutely! I still haven't finish "building" my garage before I had to move the toolbox and workbench down. The white Cobalt you see in the picture broke down so I needed to get all my tools down from my parents house to pull the trans.

Kobalt 53” tool cabinet, got it as a gift some years ago. Works like a champ!

I also have two craftsman 5-drawer boxes that will be used here shortly. No pics for those

Is a 44 really so much wider than your 26 with the side box? It's what, 6 or 8 inches wider?
But with a 44 top and bottom, you would have nearly twice the space.

Very true, only a few inches wider. But I was thinking if I kept the 26" and got a44", I'd have no room for it. Still need to stuff a mini fridge and a trash can next to the toolbox, which you can't see.

Had the big one (brought home from work) for a bit, but going to sell it because of lack of space as you can see...The small one does fine for my house

My boxes. No longer a line tech, so my big boy sits at home all day. My basic everyday work tools are kept in my Matco tool cart at work. ********* is a 3-bay Matco 6S, little red is a Gen1 Harbor Freight 44" with side box. 3bcfc4878eb8aeef4c99fd05097f4929.jpg

I'm just getting into the awesomeness of tool organization. For the longest time I just kept tools in bins and got mad all the time because I couldn't find anything. Here is my HF mechanics cart. I love that they finally started making more colors.

All my tools (files, clamps, wrenches, sockets, saws, channelocks, etc.) are in old cardboard boxes according to tool type until I can decide on an organization scheme. I am just to but a $289 HF chest, but you can't take one of those with you from place to place.

My New Snap On KRL 1203 top box just got delivered this week:thumbup:. I had the Krl 1033. I love the !033, Those two top drawers do it for me. I swapped out my bottom 10" drawer for a 12" and bought the power tool drawer upgrade(like the KRL 1163) The 1163 would be my second choice. I had to go with the Electric Orange.
