Cornwell 7 drawer from Craigslist $350.00 with keys.

Used but in good shape, one small dent in the bottom drawer. Should be an easy fix. It is heavy. I am impressed with the beefy nature of this box.

Drawers roll great. Liners should be replaced. Once I get it cleaned up it will great for my little shop.

Ugh man, 350 for the pro line box is a steal. I'm very jealous. I'm looking to spend 800-1200 for that exact box used.

I thought it was a pretty good deal I didn't really even dicker with the guy. He even loaded it in his truck and delivered it with my help. Which was great because I probably couldn't have left it at myself

Home garage set up. Still working on organizing, and plan on replacing the brown craftsman roller. Center stack has most of the main tools that I didn’t have room for on the cart. The top and the mid box on the left have hold some extra screwdrivers, wrenches, and files. Stack on the right has consumable like saw blades, drill bits and other less commonly used items like tin snips and electrical pliers.

My humble submission, US General 56". Still looking forward to the day when I can afford a 72" and fit all my sockets, ratchets and such in one drawer :) (my impact sockets have to be in the drawer to the right of the main drawer.

I feel your pain. I have to top chest as well. My impact sockets take the bottom drawer of the top chest with chrome in the top drawer of the bottom chest.

The plan is a 72”x 30” Tool Vault with hutch in the spring.

Thought I’d share an update on my work space at the shop. It’s been awhile. Currently no drawer pics though.
1a69c2bde524e3ab2cb4e154c057ad02.jpg
Still going with the JD look.

07ffbbe4e9be7c3483296967ea11f13a.jpg
72” box with all the main tools, maintenance records and other similar things. It’s the main box and office. Drawer labels came free from SK one time. Just to help dad and my b-i-l find things. They’re the only ones allowed to use anything.

b1bdd378f25f8b3c411aa18fa034d169.jpg
56” JD box. Has majority of the power tools, tap and die sets, thread cutters, etc. Corner has a little table I made for extra work space and to fit the radio. Drawers on top are for miscellaneous hardware and what not used for repairs. Few spare parts.

098509453df51e41b17174e80687429c.jpg
Beside the 72” box is my supply cart. Made it to hold the 4 drawer dividers and the old military cabinet. They got the JD color too. It has a lot of the most used supplies and consumables. Bolts, electrical connectors, wire, cotter pins, hitch pin clips, etc. etc.

08b9b4921fb85641c3a7bea3da971240.jpg
Beside the supply cart is a simple HF cart that received the green treatment as well. Gets used to wheel around things in the shop. Holds consumables. Added some things to it to hold and organize the tools for whatever I’m working on at the time.

af8d71344ad1a5ef94e5929c4bf31710.jpg
Beside the 56” box is a cabinet. Holds more consumables and supplies. Stores repair manuals and parts catalogs. Also has safety equipment. Gloves, safety glasses and goggles, rubber boots, dust mask and respirators. Water hose and extra air hoses too.

17409ac5fffc637ad40242ceaea57ee4.jpg
Then of corse there is the parts washer. Doesn’t see and abundance of use so it becomes a catch all for other ****.

Having grown up on a farm/ranch operation and been in more farm yards than I can count I can say with certainty I have never seen a shop space as organized or squared away as yours.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks. It makes a big difference when you know where things are at and they’re easy to get to when you’re in a rush.

I was in one the other day, had one little corner piled with some junk tools and the rest of it haphazard shelves piled with absolute junk took up 85% of the space and they fixxin in the dirt outside. Wasn't even good junk. Breaker box all snotty, ever start a fire in the place and wouldn't be able to put it out. Was nice enough building but neglected.
I agree speed is where its at here. Once in a while I still get caught finding something special but its rather rare. My place is a pit stop. We can rebuild and do complex work but its really set for convenience.

I need more space! My goal is to get another 44. Then get a top chest for one and side locker. I got my top drawer organized. I was tempted to use my cart for my sockets and hard-line tools but truth be told I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER SATISFY MY OCD.

Here’s the best picture I have of it. Almost 20 year old Made in USA Craftsman.

I just emptied it out and cleaned it up, to be repurposed for firearms accessories. The hunt for a proper box is on.

My Kennedys from the early and mid 80s. I scored both of the base cabinets for $25 each from my employer when it was announced that we would be closing our doors. Over the next few years I gradually added the uppers. Still have them today. Only wish the bases had ball slides, but can't complain given the cost. :)

I would love to find that ere all drawers bottom, with or without the side box, I have the mid and top like that and they are sitting on a previous generation box. (different drawer pulls)

Nice setup!

I picked up a US General 26" base cabinet in blue the other day. A forklift dinged the corner and the manager marked it down to $199 for me. I spent more time looking for a hammer to straighten the corner than I did repairing it. Very minor damage, insignificant at best. Hardly damaged the paint, just a slightly rolled lip.

This box is now dedicated to engine rebuilding. I have several Volvo B20 motors that I am building for my vintage Volvo cars and I need some way to keep all my parts and gaskets organized. This box is the perfect fit for my needs.

Surprisingly, this would be my 4th US General tool box purchase in a little over a year. My first purchase was a red 26" (similar story as this), followed by a Series 2 56" roller cabinet they had as an open box deal for under $500 because the keys were missing. I bought the top box last fall and filled both of them up already.

Unless I find a 72" chest on the markdown floor, my next purchase will likely be a yellow 26" cabinet for my Mercedes-Benz rebuild this winter. I am putting a 4.5L V8 out of a W116 450SE into my W114 280 sedan and I will have lots of small parts that need organizing, plus all my specialty M-B tools. Not exactly a bolt-in affair, but possible.

I riveted on a 1/4 inch sheet of aluminum to my old US general beater black tool cart. Also spent a little time polishing it. Thoughts? I mostly use it for mixing paint and cleaning stuff with carb cleaner and the top got really ugly after a while. With a smooth surface hopfully I can just wipe the mess up now!

Could never find a KR791 for my royal blue KR761, but did manage to find this pair.

Condition is excellent and the color is growing on me quickly.

Awesome box. Very jealous.

I have piece together Craftman boxes. Bought some one my own, one was a graduation gift from my parents. I have out grown them all. Maybe some day a bigger box will make it into my garage.

Love the color. I never liked colored boxes, always red for me, but lately all these colors have been growing on me and im starting to like them more than my old red boxes.

I never understood why having things beat up and nasty are a badge of honor for people. Especially tools and guns. I hear **** from friends all the time about not wanting to get my AR scratched. Yeah it goes out in the field with me and does exactly what I built it to. But that doesnt mean I want to throw it around, get it scratched on tree branches, etc. At the end of the day it's still $2000 I dont want to abuse for no reason. Same with my tools. They get used for exactly what they're meant to. But at the end of the project they get wiped down, degreased, lubed, whatever is needed and put back into the toolbox.

Yes! Lol, just because it’s a tool doesn’t mean I have to run it over with the car to make it cool. Especially with guns, you want them to fire when you need them to, and the best way to ensure that is to keep it cleaned and lubed and rust free. It literally takes less than 5 minutes at the end of the project to wipe down your tools or clean the bore of you gun...saves time in the future too

I loved the teal boxes when I was a kid in the 90s. If SO's recent franchisee conference is any indication, teal boxes are coming back. I still like them. That's a sweet combo with the matching top box!

Thanks guys. I am pretty excited too. Need to tear it apart to clean/lube it up properly, but been there done that and this one is a much nicer place to start.

Fire - I started on CM's too. Then along came my 'beater' blue KR which was unbelievably huge to me when I got it. I rebuilt it over time, and then eventually filled it. It happens. I have noticed it happening more quickly since I joined up here. Let's hope filling this one takes a while longer.

Junk - I am a pretty conservative person design-wise, and this decidedly is not from that camp. I do really like it though. A little bit of Miami here in Tucson? Or maybe a tasteful orange vinyl stripe a la the Heritage Ford GTs or Gulf Porsche's? I'm taking this as a nudge from life to venture out a little.

L. Cheapo (great name btw) - mine said the same. If I am 'on trend' that would be the first time in about 25 years. Graduated HS in the early 90s.

Anyways, cheers guys. Thanks for the well wishes and same back to you and yours.

Been buying up some TStak. Was undecided between these or DeWalt tough system but finally had to choose. It's the price point that got me, just a home gamer anyways. 304aca0c50a2c949bb633f4aa1fe15eb.jpg
