Thank you, JackW. This looks great! What is the one on the right second from the top?
Gives me some ideas for the future!
It's the Viking ship emblem from a Rover passenger car. I think that one is off if a P5 Rover saloon - late 1950's.

The dealership I work at took a direct hit from a tornado last spring. Our insurance company paid for my new box
Bought this a couple of weeks ago from a pawn shop, in good shape mechanically other than sticky sliders but it had pretty dull paint that turned my shop towels red when I gave it its initial cleaning. After some research it's clear this is a common issue on this vintage of box due to the use of single stage paint without a hardener - so not wanting to tackle a re-spray I decided to go the "easy" route of vinyl wrap. Twelve hours and about a hundred bucks later it came it pretty good, solid five footer for sure. Now to fill it with some tools!

My “portable” box. I say that because it’s too heavy to carry very far lol. I want to get Milwaukee packout with the rolling base to combine my Milwaukee bag and this box.

Got my Mr Big Today! Moving all my hand tools from 4 smaller boxes to 1 box... Wishing I got a top chest and work center already... Box is almost full already hahaha... I keep all my specialty and cased tools on a shelving to save on toolbox space and still not enough room!
Gonna have to save my pennies for a top chest and side cabinets/chests!
Same thing happened after building the shop (60x128 with 32x40 office) it just filled up to fast.
My advice is to plan on as big as you can afford then save longer and buy bigger! Hahahaha
Hey zekgb, how is the vinyl wrap holding up? I have a box that needs a little work and I’m thinking about trying your idea of wrapping it.

No, buying the Toolvault was my choice. The insurance was willing to buy any box comparable in price and quality, including a new two bay Matco like I had before. Even though my Matco box was 20 years old. The Toolvault cost the same as a new Matco 4s two bay. The Toolvault was a much needed upgrade plus I avoided having to pay any sales tax by buying online.
It's holding up great so far. I expect it will be at least as durable as the Rustoleum spray job I gave the office supply cabinets I'm using for the rest of my garage storage and I have enough extra for repairing any damage that occurs. If you do it don't skimp on the material - get Avery or 3M only for the best combination of workability during installation and durability afterwards.
Can you get it powder coated or is it crazy expensive and not worth the hassle? I have an old tool box from my first year as an apprentice mechanic and theHey zekgb, how is the vinyl wrap holding up? I have a box that needs a little work and I’m thinking about trying your idea of wrapping it.

A lot of the cost in powder coat comes from the preparation like chrome. If you can do the blasting or old finish removal the finish is fairly cheap. Can you get it powder coated or is it crazy expensive and not worth the hassle? I have an old tool box from my first year as an apprentice mechanic and the
crackle finish is coming off.

I like it so far. I can't believe how many tools I sold off over the last few years, there is a lot of empty space in the 26" boxes. Cart is plum full of wiring parts/tools. Have to get some time to actually organize things.Looks a good set up that does.

If I were to pare down to just one thing for shop use, I would go with a Montezuma slant top "chest" for the most commonly used tools (open the door and all the commonly used sockets, ratchets, extensions wrenches and drivers are at your fingertips) on top of a roller with a couple of drawers for other commonly used tools; ( OBD reader, DVOM, torque wrenches, etc...), as a "cart" setup, with folding side extensions on both sides of that for "staging area", one with a small vise. This to drag over to the vehicle.
I'd still have a bigger roller with many but shorter drawers for storage of less used tools. I'm still looking for the "right" 36" wide roller to do the above "Cart" setup as I want the large Montezuma...
