Cool story. I also bought my box. I think I was 17 at the time.
Do you have a picture of your box? That’s true, you never know
What treasures are in your neighbours basements lol

Here are couple of pictures. Sorry, poor quality - just did them

More of my boxes. I know, they are no match for what some of you guys have, but that's what I have now. Some of the tools like more modern Husky wrench set and other tools are not in the boxes which I am going to show.
Lets start with KR-56 1955

This is 1963 KR-58B and Kennedy (sorry, do not know how to determine the age)
On the bottom is my small box with SK tools (except for 2 ratchets which are in Kennedy)

This is Blackhawk Red Rover 1937-1939?
I started cleaning the drawers, but need better weather to wash the main body outside (too much dirt and grease on it). Will need some work. The caster wheels are all damaged (indented on the side) from standing for decades without movement and will need to be replaced.

KRA-420 Sorry, no good pictures - this was picked up in NH by my friend and is currently in Western Mass awaiting delivery till COVID19 subsides

Thank you. And all I was thinking about is a small Husky box for existing tools prior to buying the KR-56 : )

Squares, the red one looks like a Huot to me
I think the company gives replacement decals for free to vintage box owners (it should go in an oval)

Well with Snap-On having some damn good rebates I couldn’t pass up on this beautiful box. Retail is 14075.00 I got off the truck for 6100.00 with a 36” pry bar. Got a free tool box cover and 100th anniversary mug and Sweat shirt. I’m happy with that deal. 365bb9d60c428b559b4d9bcf19b7acdd.jpg

Nice KMP1163!! I had one in the Combat Green. Was a really nice box and loved the layout. Eventually ran out of room and upgraded to the TUV I have now.

Thank you, next I want side cabinets and a hutch. That should be good for me. This is for my future shop in my backyard. This will fill my hobby of being a gear head.

Finally had a chance to do some garage work. Got a couple pics of mine. There's still a couple top boxes I didn't get pics of yet.

mmm Kennedy

Thanks, Jeff. Yep! Got the 3 drawer bottom cab and a matching 3 drawer mechanics chest-I still have it, it's just not in the pic- 10 years or so ago at work (they were going to toss it in the dumpster :shocking:) and I've been a fan ever since. The others I scored off CL. All said and done I'm into the whole set up for 300.

Made an addition since my last post in this thread a while ago. Added the locker as I was running out of space and I like to keep things in their blow molded cases.

My father's well deserved upgrade. He sure earned it

And what he upgraded from. Did a really good job of filling the new one. Took several days of gathering and and digging to get to where we could see this set. He used this set in a VW dealership in the 70's. Thought he would have lots of extra space now but he didn't.

Top is Craftsman chest, bottom is a Century (assuming MB Century) and a collapsed Snap On side table (he didn't realize it was a S.O. table until we took it apart to move it to my house.)

He stopped turning wrenches professionally years ago but kept working on things from time to time through the years.

I would say he made quite the upgrade! Damn nice Snap On boxes.

Are you planning on cleaning up his old boxes?
