Put up a Polaris Clock above my toolbox/work area. also took some pics of my dads toolbox and made socket organizers. I cut out strips of plywood and put nails in them and spray painted it all black and popped the sockets on there. Plus a few pics of a couple random drawers (the only clean ones lol)

I would have killed for a Harley edition (Solely for the colour) or a Cranberry one. But i'm happy with this one. :)

Looks like my microwave!:bounce::thumbup:

It's like your microwave's offspring! I take it you also like the mini drawers? That's what i like about this so much. I would've preferred a lid like the KRLs and KRAs have, but it's still good. Just need to remove all the slides, soak them in brake cleaner and grease them.

I'll get pics of the KRA's new side locker tomorrow. :D

Moose, are you going to try to find a roll cab for the new top/mid?

Nope. When i have the space i'll buy a steel workbench and bolt it to that. It'll be kept for special tools. :)

The cranberry Harley boxes in this style are gorgeous. fatfillup had one for sale a while back. If i'd had the money at the time i would've bought it and had it imported to me.

**** phone pic of the KRA with its new locker. Needs a new logo, whoever flipped the door over before broke it removing it. Flipped the door so it's on the right side.

I know somebody who bought one of those and kept it wrapped up and never used it (last I knew a year ago that I saw it). can't remember the color....

Busted again. Yep, they work well but they skip a bunch of common sizes which drives me nuts!

i noticed there was quite a few metric sizes missing! ticked me off too! but i just bought the cheap rails that look like the binding from a notebook and screwed 3 of those in a 1/4,3/8,1/2 sizes onto a piece of wood and put the extra sockets on there.

Here is an update of my box with some more drawer liners done. The 3 boxes in the socket drawer are from the kitchen aisle at walmart. They hang over the edge and make a perfect adapter/pencil/extras holder. I also realized that I am missing quite a few sockets. I need to fill those empty pegs! The wrench holders are from HF and made in the good ole USA.

born annoyed... LOVE THE SETUP! GO HF!

Some of their stuff is alright at best. I would not recomend using their stuff on a daily basis. This is my home setup NOT what I use at work when I have work. Things are slow to say the least...

I will say I have had these HF boxes for a little bit and use them almost everyday and they seem to be holding up alright.

Hi,

It's time I introduce myself and my toolbox...

I'm a french-speaking Canadian (from Quebec), I have completed my first year (of two) of the heavy equipment mechanics course and I will be working this summer for a Terex dealer.

I have studied electronics (industrial automation) but my carreer took a bad direction and I ended up doing more and more programming. Worked 15 years as an analyst-programmer... then... I had enough of sitting in a cubicle in front of a screen... Since working as a mechanics was a long forgotten dream and some unforseen circumstances made it possible, it's back to school for me.

I already had some tools, got some new largers ones and I ended up needing a new box to houses them...

Enough about me, there are the tools.

And yes, it is in the living room... my lovely wife is totally supporting my change of carreer and is supporting of my toolbox since a few month (I start working May 3, it will leave the living room at this moment).

You are going to hate the 3/4" impact. They are gutless. Other then that it is a good start. Hope you like it.

Also speak English like the rest of us! :canadian:

Thanks Diesel_Crawler,

I also think that we should speak english coast-to-coast... I'm also seriously thinking about Alberta as soon as I get my Red Seal.

By the way, the impact is a 1/2" not a 3/4".

I never tried there 1/2, The shop got the 3/4" and it has less torque then the 3/8" snap on one I have.

I am jealous though! I work at a combination repair shop and would love to take a 2 year tech program like that

Alright, I finally got around to taking pictures to satisfy the insurance agent, figured I would upload them and share them on a thread I have really enjoyed looking through.

So don't flame me too hard, Craftsman tools and they are pretty shiny. Indeed, the tools are fairly new, but they do get used. I promise!!!

I just take my time and clean them off after extensive use. I try to keep my stuff in good physical condition and working order. I’m kind of **** about making sure things are put back in there place as well.

The crappiest part of these habits or traits of mine is, at any one time 5-6 different guys can be using my tools at the same time when tearing apart equipment or putting things back together in a rush. Makes a perfectionist go crazy…..

Okay time for the goods, I’m gonna first go through the box, later on, there will be pictures from the toolbox in my work truck, which are a bit more "seasoned" to taste.

The box, standard Craftsman. Pretty disappointed with the quality and drawer layout after I got moved into the box. This is my first physical “shop” box. I had most of my tools in my truck box until I bought this one. If I was to do things over again, I would go with something that had deeper drawer configuration and better socket drawers.

Still have some more stuff piled in the truck box. Not really happy with the Delta Pro series boxes either. I should have bought a WeatherGuard. Ohh well, you live and you learn.

Those are my tools, not much in the way of automotive since I mainly work on tractors and farm equipment.

Any ideas or suggestions, let me know.

welcome the forum, and the wild world of heavy equipment :)
you're starting out with a lot more than i started with 25 years ago !!!
my philosophy on tool buying changed over the years, from buying only what i had to have, to buying whatever it takes to make the job easier or faster. the more varied the equipment you work on, the more tools you end up buying, and the bigger the toolbox :headscrat
