What is the consensus on the Mac MB1500?
I am picking this one up to use at home. Crappy pic, It is very clean, circa 1989-1990.
I know the full-width drawer on the bottom is goofy. I don't mind. It does have ball bearing slides. 51" wide and 24" deep.

Mac built some of the nicest boxes out there. When I was looking to invest in a box years ago Mac went to the top of my list. I have purchased 4 Macsimizer Boxes over the years new. Still have 2 of them and 1 Tech Series now.

I am in the market for a used on again for storing some Tooling.

I used to own one of those. They are very nice boxes. Slide detents from Snap-on are an exact match if you ever need any.

Those look like darth vaders lightsaber storage very cool! Have you had any older ones? I'm worried about slide availability, like with all older bb boxes. If what wamsutta said is true and i can use snappy parts, that is cool. It wont be getting heavy use, probably just overthinking.

Thank you...

I have not had any old. But I have looked at a few a couple of guys I know have from the late 70' early 80's(?) and they are still performing well.

I suspect if you buy one used, an older one and the slides work when you buy it, if you take care of it and not over load it or tip it over the slides should last your life time.

I have never seen a Ball Bearing slide wear out. I have seen the aftermath of tipping a Box over and plain old neglect or overloading wear them out or destroy them.

I've been wanting a 26" middle box for a while. I picked up this little 8-drawer cabinet the other day, and it's fits the bill just fine! I decided to use it for my electronics tools. Here's some **** for all you Xcelite/Vaco fans:

It even came with fancy-schmantzy felt drawer liners:

Well after being on the board a little while I thought I would make my first post. This is my work set up I use every day. Twin Snap On kr1000 bottoms, one is a 1990 anniversary edition box the other is my 1989 model but I put some graphics on it to make them somewhat match. Also my Matco cart I work out of everyday. The hutches I created myself. Enjoy the board and the posting of everyone's ideas and gear.

Nice setup

Very nice setup.

I'm a 1990 vintage myself. ;) Great looking pair of boxes. The lack of vertical divider between the rows of drawers really make them look beefy.

My little Husky 26” which was too small when i got it. But it’s all I had room for. Re-doing the garage so I have some more room. Plan to pick up a Us General 44” cabinet chest setup. That will be a massive jump in room for me.

I have the husky up for sale to put towards the upgrade.

Still working on getting better tools as I need them.

I'm sure that VCR head puller doesn't get much use nowadays. I don't think I've used mine in the past 22 years

I just received in my red and black New Age bold cabinets. Getting ready to pick up a new Tool chest this weekend. For many reasons I will be picking up a harbor freight/US general 44 inch.

I was going to get black, but I’m thinking the green might look nice. I also like the yellow. And the blue. I like the colors!

Any opinions on how the green Toolchest would look next to the black and red cabinets? Walls are gray and the floors are a mixture of gray and red Swiss trax tiles.

Thanks!

I don't have room in my garage for a big chest, but in the last six months I've moved out of my out-grown and kinda-crappy Seville chest to a USG 26" chest and a USG 5-drawer cart:

They're serving me well, and having the cart is especially helpful
