Has it ever been dirty?
Better yet, have the tools ever been out of the drawers?
Let's just say my neighbors aren't the type of people to need a potting bench. I've done all the yard work and outdoor upkeep.
Personally? I like doing it because it gives me a break from my day job in a cube farm.
Counting down the days till I can move out to a single family...
Finally got my stainless top put on my bench yesterday. Turned out great, now I can get on with the rest of the garage.
That turned out awesome!
After being inspired by all the nice workbenches already posted, I decided to build one of my own. I don't have a garage and I live in a 3 unit condo so the basement is shared space. I had to be careful not to take over too much space before people start complaining. I was getting tired of doing projects on the coffee table (as was my wife) so I just went for it. The frame is made up of 2x4s and the top/backsplash/shelves are all 1/2" MDF. The bench height is about 45" due to me being 6'3". The floor slopes a bit so its not exact, but it level all the way around which I'm happy about. Roughly $50 in supplies later, I have a pretty decent bench. I may or may not paint it in the future but for now its fine as is. Still need to run some electrical to it but I ran out of time last weekend.
Ok.
For you sour grapes guys that think a workbench that is sometimes clean can't be actually used for REAL work, here are some shots of my workbench this week.
I have too many concurrent projects, and the clutter is making me crazy, but it does look "used".

My newest of 4. This one is strictly for wood.
wkderf,
Looks great! The wood top really gives it a nice look.
Take that little bench with you...almost surprising how soon a bench comes in handy while still moving in...
Damn.....I feel sticker inadequate!!!!![]()
I have sticker 'shock'!
