My lift arrived and was installed today, got a Mohawk System 1 10K lift which is identical to the one OldCarGuy has, in fact seeing the pics of his & reading the review he did was what gave me the idea that this was the one i wanted. The install was about 4 hrs start to finish by people who do this sort of thing all the time so the 300.00 cost of installation was money well spent. They worked the bugs out of it, about all I did was the electrical hookup. Called my buddy after it was in & he brought his Dodge 3500 extended cab dually diesel truck down & ran it into the air no problem, weighs 7500 lbs so my vehicles will be a cake walk for it. Everything went well with the install, only thing is that the plug that comes with it is for 3 phase & calls for 12-4 wire where if I had it to do over would have bought 12-3 instead. This is going to be 10,000% better than having to do everything with car ramps & jack stands.

I'll have to remember this testing technique when I install my lift. I wonder if this thing will fall over --- not to worry, I call a buddy and test it with his vehicle.
The guy who put it in told me they do a lot of them which probably explains how they can do this. They maintain an inventory of cylinders so if someone has a problem or needs one rebuilt they do an exchange then send them to mohawk when they get a pallet load which makes it cheaper than an individual shipping their own cyl back. Was REALLY fortunate on this, usually wind up ordering something right AFTER the price goes up.
