I know that some of the stuff Bend Pak sells is made in China...and many of their parts...I don't know about all of them...(I stopped selling or installing Bend Pak's a while ago...their q/c left a lot to be desired from our experience...and after going back 2-3 times to finish installations, any profit you might have made was long gone...)Aahz

You are the third distributor in the past year to tell me that they dropped the BendPak line because of quality issues! Having to return way too many times to correct the problems lost any profit on the sale.

I just wanted to make a quick post to thank Frank (AKA Aahz) for all the information and advise he has provided this forum. I had to go the route of a used lift due to budget constraints but purchased a certified lift due to the info I learned here. I did contact Frank about hardware and shims to install it and he quoted me a fair price and shipped them to me in a couple of days.

If I were purchasing a new lift I would have no problems buying it from Frank.

And if anyone was wandering, I have no affiliation with any lift company or distributor. Just a satisfied customer.

Aahz,

Thanks for all of your help so far. I am new to this forum (at least new to posting...), I am extremely interested in the Rotary 4 post SMO12 (open front with one of the in bay options, short length option and possibly the narrow bay model) and the RJ6000. With these options, I believe the lift will fit perfectly in 'my' side of the garage with a 9' wide door... Can you give me a price for the lift and above options? I would be very interested in a PDF of the lift that goes over the details of the in bay options. The one I have does not explain most options nor does it have any decent photos.

I would appreciate any info on this lift - I have been studying many lifts for months looking for one that is around 190-195" in length (outside of pad to outside of pad) and over 103" wide between posts (drive-thru). From what I can tell, the Rotary SM12 line is exactly what I'm looking for.

Sorry for all the questions, I pm'd you last week and tried to avoid writing you in this thread...

If you email me your phone number I can easily call you on this stuff...

Thanks for your time,

Brian

Brian;

Call me anytime at 1-888-350-7500....My extension is 103 and ask for Frank. I apologize for the delay in getting to you, the wife wouldn't let me on the computer over the holidays...(something about "family time"...Can you believe it????)

My gut feeling is that you want to look at the Revolution series of lifts rather than the SM Series. The SM Series is really a commercial grade lift...which is great if you're a shop, but really too big for most garage applications. The overall width of the SM0123 is 11' 5-9/16" and the width BETWEEN the columns is 195". The overall length is 20' 9".

The Revolution (RFP7-XLT), by contrast, has an overall length of 18', 9' 5" overall width and 8' 3" drive thru between the columns.

The SM Series of lifts MUST be anchored, with the Revolution lifts, anchoring is optional.

Feel free to call when you get a chance.

Regards,

Aahz (Frank)

Frank,

Thank for the note - I'm calling as well...

I have seen the Revolution line from Rotary, but there were a few things I didn't like about them when comparing them to the SM series. Just looking at them dimensionally, I like the larger Revolution version which allowed a little better width for pulling a vehicle into the garage, however this model also ended up being to long for me - width-wise I want the posts to just outside my 9' door opening or in the 103+" between posts. The SMO12NB-S, with the narrow bay and the shorter overall length looks to be perfect for my application - yes it is their 'shop' version, but I like a lot of the extras that are available for this lift...

My other question is: can the controller be ordered for any side and post? I have power set up for it on the side of the lift (outside of the right post by ramp when driving on) - this would be in the center of the garage in my situation.

Thanks again for your time,
Brian

Frank,

I just though of a couple of other options that I will need pricing on - I forgot to ask you when I had you on the phone...

FC5282 - low profile oil drain

SI00006 - extended ramps (length of ramp and horizontal distance from back of lift when hanging, if possible)

RJ4500 or RJ6000 rolling jacks

Has anyone used any of these options? Just looking for some feedback on these lifts and the options to know what people think of them and how they work...

Thanks,
Brian

FC5282 - low profile oil drain--I wouldn't recommend for home use. You will still need a method to drain the pan to a seperate waste oil container...Most shops that have this option have a pneumatic diaphragm pump installed close by to pump the used oil to their waste oil tank. The price for the drain (if you absolutely can't live without it) is $516.75

"SI00006 - extended ramps (length of ramp and horizontal distance from back of lift when hanging, if possible)." The distance the ramps hang below the lift when the lift is fully raised is 31" with the standard ramps. The extended ramps would be 37" below the lift. Each ramp (standard) weighs in at about 85 lbs.

RJ4500 or RJ6000 rolling jacks---The RJ4500 will not fit the lift we are talking about here...so we'll leave that one out. The RJ6000 ---(get ready)----$1986.65---Each----

The other option we discussed on the phone was the rolling jack tray for this style of lift...FC663----$627.50

Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

I may be interested in a Revolution...the larger XLT version...color red if that affects cost. what would that cost shipped to Michigan?

I posted these prices earlier in the thread....this model is the XLT version...
Revolution RFP7P001 (76" rise, 162" max wheelbase, 7,000 lbs. capacity, 4 Post Residential Lift)--- $3,559.00 delivered to your door*. (Since you're in MI...there will be tax involved...if you know what your local tax rate is, I can give you a total price.

* Price includes freight to your choice of facility in continental U.S. The customer (you) is responsible for offloading the truck when it arrives. Delivery trucks do not have tailgate lifts, so you must have a forklift or other means of offloading the freight. If you do not have access to a forklift, we recommend that you pick the freight up at the local freight terminal with a car trailer. The trucking company will load the lift on your trailer with their forklift. You can also pick up at our warehouse in Hanover Park, IL if you so desire. (We have limited numbers of SPOA10's in stock now).

If you would like the lift installed by an RAI, we will be happy to recommend a local installer for you after the purchase. If an RAI is utilized, the product will be drop shipped to their location and they will be responsible for offloading and delivering the lift to you as part of the installation process. Installation expenses must be paid directly to the RAI.

Due to Rotary Lift having corporate offices in many parts of the country, they are required to collect local sales taxes when drop shipping to the following states. If you reside in OH, MO, IN, TN, MI, PA, NY, FL, TX, KS, CO, and or CA, we will charge you your local sales tax rate based on our cost (not the price you are buying at). Illinois residents will be required to pay 7% sales tax.

All payments must accompany the order when it is placed. AMEX, VISA, M/C accepted...no personal checks, but money order or cashier's check is OK. Orders may be placed by calling 1-888-350-7500 Ext. 103 (that's me, Frank).

I'd love to get a 2 post symetrical 9k lift, but it seems as though the min ceiling height is 12'. Mine is 11'. Do you see any problem with me tearing out section of the ceiling, then replacing it around the lift? The garage is attached to the house, but it's on the end of the house with no living space above it - only the attic over the garage. So yeah, it would look weird, but think that could work? Joists run perpendicular to how the car pulls in, so I could probably put the bar in between 2 joists. This would get me a great lift with a clear floor.

Thoughts?

11' is plenty. You will not be sorry.
