One of these would probably work for you...

The only down side to these is the floor is not completely clear under the lift. It has the track that runs from post to post.

I got a midrise from Greg Smith. It lifts about 48", can be moved and required no real installation. Perfect for the partnof my garage that has a 9' ceiling.

I'd probably go with the max jax myself. If you aren't going to have enough room to walk under it anyways, you might as well have one that you can move when you aren't using it

my ceiling is actually 9 foot 6 I believe, I need to measure it, my memory is bad. looks like their are several 2 posts on the greg smith site that will work. Being able to move the max jax would be a real plus also... Thanks for the info everyone!

Here are pics of the mid-rise.

I also have a HD9 BendPak in the bay with the higher ceiling.

The mid-rise turned out to be great. I park a car over it usually, and the only thing "in the way" is the hydraulic unit, but it's no big deal at all. Plus, it required no site prep as it sits on the floor and plugs into a regular 120 outlet.

If memory serves it lifts about 50".
