I've had LED's in mine for almost a year.
It just says that as LED's could interfere with range. No issues for me though.

I replaced my Liftmaster today with a Chamberlain. I used LED’s in my Liftmaster for years with no problems. I called Chamberlain last week because I was considering using LED bulbs in the new opener. Chamberlain customer service said that certain LED bulbs would work in their garage door openers and others would not.

You might reach out to Liftmaster customer service and ask them which, if any, LED bulbs will work in your specific opener. Just a thought.

Check the hertz operating range of the bulbs vs your garage door frequency...it could affect the operation when they are illuminated. I had installed some led's in my garage door opener, and I couldn't get it to close the door when they were on (when I would back out to leave). Coming home it worked fine, because they had timed out and were off when the open signal was sent. Going into the house also worked because I used the switch on the wall which is hard wired. If they are far enough out of the frequency range you might be okay.

No problem with led on mine.

Edit: Sorry my remote says Liftmaster, but I just realized that mine's a different model, if that makes a difference.

I have the LM3800, predecessor to the LM8500 and have interference problems from wifi security webcam to LED bulbs causing the door remote to not open the door and the remote light not turning on/off. I did find a webcam that doesn't cause problems and went through a couple different brands of LED bulbs in the remote light. I found that the cheap off brand LED bulbs caused problems about 10% of the time and the best results I got was from Sylvania brand and those caused problems 1% or less. At least I think it was the LED bulbs because I changed back to incandescent bulbs and have had 0% problems. I've got so much wireless stuff in my house it's hard to say 100% what causes interference and what doesn't.

I too was experiencing an intermittent issue running Feit LED bulbs where my remote light was not turning on/off. Only solution (for the time being) was to have one incandescent and one LED bulb in the fixture and the problem went away.

Don't UL listed products had to conform with RF/EM interference emissions standards? Is Liftmaster saying that even LED bulbs that meet those standards cause remote interference? If so, I'd say their receiver electronics are sub-standard.

"Sub-standard electronics" is an understatement! I don't mind using incandescent bulbs in this application, just fix the failure-defaults-to-an-open-door mode/wall controller issue Liftmaster-Chamberlain!!

IIRC, the opener doesn't have to conform in terms of rejecting or blocking RFI, the bulbs have to conform to emitting RFI below a "reasonable" amount and it all depends on whether they are Class A (commercial) or Class B (residential). Feit states their bulbs are "UL Listed", but I can't find anything anywhere as to WHAT UL Listing they have. That's not surprising, considering how crappy their stuff generally is.

Doesnt UL listing just mean it wont burn your house down? RF/ RFI would be "FCC" type accepted or something like that I think...

IIRC all electronics are required to meet certain FCC emissions standards. It's been a few years but IIRC we had them tested by a local lab and the results were sent to UL for a final certification. But my memory could easily be wrong on that, I was not directly involved in the process.

Look for a statement saying that the bulb meets FCC part 15 standards. Should read something like this :

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC
Rules. Operation is subject to the following
two conditions: (1) This device may not
cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.

That is exactly what I was thinking of when I said the door opener is not required to block/reject RFI...

Thanks!

Maybe, but it's bad design not to consider interference in a world that is awash in interference sources. Frequency hopping is not hard to implement but I haven't looked at how much spectrum is available in the garage door opener operating range.

Tell me about it, at work we got ~30,000 hours lifespan from some of their CFL's and ~10,000 hours from others.

Probably falls under ISM- Industrial Scientific Medical devices- 902-928 Mhz or 2.4 GHz. Not much bandwidth, but shouldnt have to require much...
