I'm one step closer to purchasing my Maxjax!
Hi ya'll! First off, I wasn't pleased with the long tube which the liftmaster would connect to, it was higher by an inch on both sides(kind of like it was bowed), so I lowered it an inch on both sides to make it look a little more level, only to disrupt the setting of the door tension a little. So I attempted to adjust the tension on the springs, but the darned things were rusted and the collar stuck to the tube~the springs were really old! LSS~ I paid someone to come out and replace the springs and the wheels/rollers! A little pricey, but I felt it was worth it!
HOWEVER~ after going in my house and coming back out when he was finishing up~ he had put the tubes back up where I had tried lowering them in the first place
! he said,"oh, you did that~!" I just let it go
Anyway, I told the man I was installing the liftmaster and he said, "You're going to install it?" and chuckled! I was a little dissappointed the way he said it, like I wasn't going to be able to do it, plus I thought it may have been a bear to install~ BUT!!!
Installation~It was easy!!
I was intimidated what the garage guy said, and a little by all the **** in the box and the book of instructions, but it was not difficult at all!
.
however, I still need to run permanent electrical wiring to it, right now it's on a switched light switch. Maybe when I run the new wiring for my Maxjax, I'll run the new outlet then.
Overall, I give it a 2 out of 10(10 being really difficult).
