Hello all,

I have a 32'x50' garage that will be wired in two weeks.. I'm trying to validate my lighting plan. I'm planning on using these fixtures:

My thought process was having 4 lights (butted together) center of the left garage door (the right side having 5 to cover the extra depth), making two rows running the length of the building. 4 together would be 32' deep (40' deep on the right side being 5 fixtures).

I'm worried if I should do 3 rows instead, or run the lights a different direction?

Inside as of right now:

Looking forward to everyone's thoughts/opinions!

I'd do three rows, the outside rows about 4' off the walls and another down the middle. I would also use LED tube fixtures and add a 4' to each row. It's a whole bunch easier to replace a tube VS. repairing or replacing a fixture. But, in the end, it's your shop and it doesn't matter what I would do in my building.

All depends on what you plan to do in the shop.

Two rows will leave the sides of vehicles next to the walls rather dark. 3 rows would get rid of those dark zones and even out the overall lighting level.

Consider a few switches if you don't always need every light on.

All good info.. just placed an order for 9 8ft lights and will do three rows. I will put a shorter 4ft one over by the workbench area to help close that gap some. I will report back final pictures once I get some power turned on..

I would do 3 rows also.

Consider dropping the outboard ones down. Mine are 7-8' high; on the edge of built-in shelving, and under a beam for the mezzanine.
