ALL hf 20% coupons say that. They always take a copy or off of your phone. Not to mention it says it works online, which I just tried and can confirm it works ;)

I ordered from the same vendor with the same deal. Only difference was they shipped it freight - required to be on site and ready to offload from the semi they sent.

Interesting! Mine arrived on time via UPS. It's fairly light so I'm surprised it came via freight. Mine came directly from Harris in Ohio so maybe it was better to ship from there than drop shipping from Lincoln?!

How many times have you seen sales on good welders from companies that mandate a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) system?

This one is almost 1/3rd off.

Lest we forget that while I'm not sure where it is made, I would be very surprised if at least some parts are not made in China. And there's that whole tariff thing that is coming on all Chinese goods.

In other words, this deal won't get any better.

Thanks for the replies and I did pull the trigger with 4 hours to spare. What size tank does anyone suggest for only occasional hobby work?

Ain't that the truth. Thought bought out our local welder's supply place, and basically doubled the charges. And that was for some stuff already triple what I had been paying in Dearborn, MI at Van Born welding before I moved here.

For everyone looking for tanks call all of the local gas suppliers in your area and see who is the cheapest both to buy the tank and for fill ups. I found one local place that I was able to buy an 80cuft (that's the largest anyone will sell around here) with the first fill "free" so I bought a full tank from them for around $190 and then found the place right next door to them is $20 cheaper for future fill ups so since I own the tank I can go there in the future. Some people are willing to pay more to build a relationship with their local shops in case they need consumables or something but like most here in this section of the forum I like deals so I buy mine online and just make sure I keep plenty on hand but I'm also not in a position that running out on the weekend is going to cause me great harm since I only weld for hobby anyway. My point is spend 30 minutes calling around if you want to find the best deal cause I saved myself overt $100 by not just driving to Airgas after calling them first.

Just be sure that they will fill it. Some places won't, as the tank may have the name of one business cast or stamped into it, and some places won't fill up tanks with a competitor's name. Anecdotally, if they refill on site, it won't be a problem. But if they do exchanges, it will. Acetylene is almost always a problem due to how long it takes to refill.

Dont tske my word for it because I'm a n00b too.
From my research it looks like C25(25% co2, 75% argon) is pretty standard.

Try Phoenix Welding Supply for the bottle; they've been significantly cheaper than the national chains everytime I've bought a bottle.
270 filled 122cf and 219 filled 80cf...

If the sales on ebay were any indication I think the rebate was a huge success. I'd be surprised if it didn't come back next year.
