Actually I have a 3 bay shop at my home. I have 2 full time techs. When I bought it I did not know if I would like it. I would like to find other type of hangers to hand other tools on the other boards. I bought that side cabinet from the scratch and dent sale for 50% off but it is missing one of the slide outs. When one of the guys borrow one of my ratchets or extensions I know it is missing. :bounce:

Got them from my Snap On dealer. After I pick up a little I will post some more pictures. Just dropped in new ceiling and have been trashing on my snowmobiles for a trip next week.

Where did you get the snap clips?
Or did the box come with them?

Those are some of the clips that are used on the "slots and dots" in the backs of hutches and side lockers. There are a bunch of different designs that you can buy.

Funny thing is, they only fit Snap-on boxes....imagine that....

A lot of the CART/WRC/F1 racing mechanics use those on their top chests to store extensions/ratchets/speeders. You can make good use of the back side of the top lid by using those clips.

exactly, i have bought a cheap offbrand set 5yrs ago and they are still in the package.

on a side note, if you box laying on its side? is that why all the drawers open like that?

So how do you know you don't like them if you haven't used them?

Thanks, Merk!
They are fairly expensive. Also, there are dozens of choices and I have no clue where to start.
Im assuming I wont need the triple or double clips to hold ratchets and extensions, so that narrows its down a little bit...
I also found this companys website from a post on this website. I believe its a family owned company of a forum member. Made in the USA to boot.

That was exactly where I got the idea. Its such a great use of space and I barely see anyone else do it. I wonder why?
One thing Ive always wondered is how they mount them. Do they just drill through the box lid and have a screw sticking up through the top? That seems like the only option on my particular box since my box does not have an extra layer of metal on the lid.
Ive seen a few boxes with an extra layer of metal on the lid that is a little bit away from the actual lid. To form an air channel in between the two pieces of metal.

Gary, how are the wrench racks being held vertical in the slide drawer? Using the same clips?

IF yours was like this, you'd just drill holes through a back plate (that'll hold the array of clips) and that layer of sheet metal of the box. You can secure it using rivets.

I didnt think of that, I suppose I could rivet it to my box top as it is. An excuse to buy more tools!
Off to research riveting I go...
Thank you.
