First off, I want to say a quick thanks to the GJ community for the massive wealth of information here. I've been lurking and reading for years, only to start posting recently. I've answered so many silly homeowner questions just by searching here. Thanks!!
We closed on a log home last week, now that the dust has settled, I wanted to start a thread to document progress on my favorite part of the property- THE GARAGE! It's a 24x34 "3 bay", with a full attic. 3 bay in quotes because they built the stairs on the right hand wall, eating up a bit of that bay... I guess that bay will be Vespa and lawn equipment storage, at least until I come up with a plan to move the stairs to the back wall or outside.
Most of the space is still half full of our move and things that the PO left us, until I get some of that sorted out I'll hold of on interior pics, but here's a quick shot of the shop and my new/used garden tractor (I'm pretty proud of it!).
The list of immediate needs for the garage is;
1) ROOF! The whole front pitch is leaking and the decking is shot, mostly because of the awful skylights.
2) Sort through everything and manage/plan storage & shelving
3) Compressor & lines install
4) Stain/Seal the remaining two sides (right and rear) that haven't been stained since it was built in 94.
5) Tear out the retaining wall on the left side and move it back a couple feet to hide my utility trailer and probably a plow truck over there. Obviously this requires pulling down a couple large trees, but they're dripping sap all over the cars so they're out.
