I went to get some coffee this morning and noticed a garage sale on the way. It was raining really hard and I could see the frustration on the guys face. He said he cancelled the sale because of the rain and was going to have it next week instead. I saw this Kennedy Tool Box by his garbage and asked him about it. He was throwing it out and Said I was free to take it if I wanted. It has a lot of rust around the bottom, but can’t complain about the price.

Sanded and got some Sunrise Red. It isn't a mirror finish, but at least the rust is gone.

That looks great!

Bret

Thanks Bret. Can't complain about the price and it was a fun project.

Found a good spot for for it on the workbench. I put a square frame behind it so that it can open and close. My son helped me build the frame and was a huge help. He loves using the air hose to blow out the sawdust! Must be my OCD showing up in him. :yikes:

I think I found my next project. My wife and I took the motorcycle out for a ride and I saw an older guy pulling this jointer out toward his pick-up. I turned around and offered him a hand. Together we got it into his pick-up and strapped down. I asked him if he needed me to follow him and help him unload it and he explained he was taking it to the recycler. I asked him how much for it and he said if I wanted it I could have it. It had been in his garage for 40 years and only used a handful of times. He even delivered it!

I love the homemade belt cover on the back.

I don't know how I've missed this thread. Read from the beginning, amazed by all the out-of-the-box thinking, the creativity and the succesful making of all the stuff. It's one thing to have ideas, but completely different to be able to make them reality. Really nice treehouse, "garage" and garage!

I found this grinder! I have always wanted one of these old block grinders and when I saw it on marketplace for $50 I had to jump on it. I swapped my other grinder onto my stand. Super happy with it.

I have been wanting a air filtration system for a while now. My garage is under a couple upstairs bedrooms and close to the furnace downstairs. I don't know much about them, but I found this one at a garage sale and offered $40 and she said yes. When I plugged it in it worked great! No remote, so I'll have to remember to pull the string, but really happy right now.

You’re gonna like that filter. They are great.
No remote? Is it not compatible or can you get one? They are really helpful because you can set a timer to run it for two hours at the end of the day, when all the dust is settling.

It is compatible, I’ll just have to find one. I like the idea of letting it run at the end of the day:thumbup:

Beautiful!

Thanks! I sent a picture to my brother and he said maybe he should have kept it...lol.

I really enjoy cleaning up these older tools. The Delta ones are built so well that they should be good for another 50 years!

That planer turned out mint man! nice work!

Yeah, I’m really happy with it. I’m still bouncing ideas around about the stand. I’m thinking of just keeping it super simple.

That jointer is looking like new, nice work again!

For the air filtration system. If you can't find a remote, how about leaving it in the "On" position, and placing a remote controlled or timer controlled wall plug between the machine and the plug in the wall?

That is what I was thinking as well. I have something similar for my dust control.

Like Bret suggested, I used Evapo-rust on the fence and table. The scotch pad on the sander finished off those nicely. I used different wire brush attachments on my drill for the body.

The little one is GREAT. She is just over a year now and has really competed our family.

I got the air filter installed. I think i’ll use a smart plug and see how that will go. I also had a old big ugly light up there that I took down and replaced it with two lights from Costco. Now I have to paint up there :lol_hitti.

One thought on smart plugs and switches. Check the amperage. I had to replace some lights with LED because they would burn up switches after time. Either the switches capacity were over-advertised, I did not figure right, or just close to the limit and time would zap them. Moral of the story, leave some breathing room, pun intended. :):shocking:

BTW, cool job on both.

Good point! I actually read that about those plugs! The filter system says it is 3.9 amps, so I should be in the clear.

Did a quick project over the last two nights. I had some scraps and thought I would make my wife a new cutting board.

I think the wood is Wedge, Walnut and Maple.
attachment.php

Glued it up and waited over night.
attachment.php

Sanded down to 400 grit and put on some Cutting Board oil.
attachment.php

And now she wants me to make some for Christmas presents. Guess I get to go buy some more wood!!
