Recently I built some storage that was connected to a support beam in my garage. I used one of those drawers to hold my router and bits. Here is my small trim router in there.

And after. I still need to buy one more set of the storage inserts from rockler to finish it out, but so far it'll get the job done.

I also had a couple of windows on the side of my garage. When I moved in they had already been boarded over and I used the area for a kind of built in storage area. Here is what it looked like for a majority of the time.

I went to a garage sale and found a bunch of wood. I decided to rework that space.

Here is the after.

I had already done the other window and now they match much better!!

Here is the wall now. I am way happier with it.

No, the windows had already been removed and covered on the outside with siding to match the house. The previous owner had built a lean-to along one side and had most likely done it then. I was just using the space provided inside the garage.

We got about 7 inches of snow here. My son had a great time playing in it! We are planning on going sledding today!

I’m humbled by your words about Best Dad award, but I’m just a average guy with big ideas. One of these times I’ll take my wife’s picture when I say, “So I have an idea.”!

I got this toolbox awhile ago and I feel I finally have the drawers organized enough to share (you guys all set the bar pretty high). I used yoga mats for a lot of it.

Here is my socket drawer. My OCD really kicked in here and forced me to buy some sockets to fill the holes. I'm sure some of you understand where I'm coming from. I'm using the Craftsman socket organizers. I know they aren't very well liked on here, but I like the way they look and they work for me. Most of the sockets are USA Craftsman, but I've been trading out them for Snap-on and SK.

Screwdrivers and wrenches!!!

The drivers are a mix of MAC, Snap-on and Matco. I really like the Matco WITTE screwdrivers. They were a Father's Day gift and they kinda get spoiled.

So for the wrenches I used two of the Harbor Freight Wrench Organizers and cut them into pieces for use. I got the organizers at a garage sale for $1 a piece so I wasn't too worried about cutting them up. The ratcheting SK's were birthday present. They are amazing and I'm asking the metric set to replace my Gear Wrench set this birthday.

Pliers electric and Hammers.

I received the Craftsman pliers using points. I bet I spent a total of $8 on them all. I have been looking for a set to replace them with, but I actually like the square handles for gripping. I did lose a side cutter and replaced that with a Knipex cutter. The Knipex is defiantly in a differently league.

Electrical. This is kinda a mess. I liked the Knipex side cutters so much I bought a wire stripper to replace my pair I had from Radio Shack!

Hammers, Saws and Pry Bars. That big Bash hammer came with my vise. Also, Yes that is a Snap-on Claw Hammer. I spoiled myself and bought it just because I really wanted it. I'm currently looking to upgrade some of my saws. I have been looking at Estate sales for one that needs some love that I can give some life too.

Small drawers next!!

Levels and squares. I have them in the top so I can get to them quick. I may have to move these somewhere else since I do use them a lot.

I got these nut drivers because of Garage Journal. They are great and replaced a very old set I had before.

I made the switch from Dewalt to Makita a few months ago. I really love my sub-compact Makita's.

Take a look at the Logitech Bluetooth receiver. I added one, as I don't really have a need for anything more than BT music from the phone. Cheap, and has RCA outputs.

Alright, I brought my college receiver up to a little more current standards and got it hooked up to Bluetooth. Now I can play some of my favorite podcasts in my garage!

Thank you. About half of the tools are because of Garage Journal...lol. The yoga mats works good, as long as you buy the thicker ones. I like how you can pick different colors. Cutting is really easy and the grids make it easy to get straight. That being said, I would like them even thicker.

So my daughter is a fan of Harry Potter, we also enjoy going to Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle. She said she wants to go as Quidditch player and mentioned she would need a broom. I had a 2X6 sitting around so made a pattern.

I decided to cut out 2 in case I messed up. I used a 2X8 and was able to not waste too much wood. If I had only cut out one, I would have for sure. Since I took the time to cut out two, I didn't need the second

I’m not good at remembering to take pictures during the process. I used the router on the edges and sanded down to 320. I decided on using Amber Shellac for the finish. I had recently trimmed my bushes and had a lot of sticks for the bristles. I used hose clamps to keep them nice and tight. Then added some copper bands that are riveted into place.

It is almost 6 feet tall. I'm still debated on whether or not to add a kickstand.

I used my wife's cricut paper cutter to make the Nimbus 2000 logo. I still plan on adding a layer of Polyurethane to the top to finish it off.

my bride and I went to visit my son who moved to Los Angeles a couple Thanksgivings ago and we got to see the Hogwarts and the Harry Potter exhibit at Universal in person. it's expensive, but we'd opt for getting the first in line tickets next time we go cause standing in line for hours to get on rides was the only downside.

I’m not really that bad. I think the benefits of organization is what has spurred it. It is so nice to open a drawer and know exactly where a tool is or know if a tool is missing. It makes projects so much faster and clean up is quick.

My 14 year old daughter was so excited. She took a bunch of pics and now it seems I have to make a few more for friends and of course Mom. My wife is a huge Harry Potter fan and we plan on going to check out Universal in a couple years once the littlest is bigger. I’m jealous!

Saw someone post a review on here about this blower. I had an older Stihl blower that was acting up on me. I cleaned the carb, fuel filter, changed the spark plug and put in a new air filter. Put it on Facebook marketplace and sold it for $60. I found this Makita Tool Only Blower on EBay for $108 with shipping included. It’s listed at Home Depot for $219. Took a week to get here, but I love it!!! It has way more power than the older Stihl, I actually have to turn the power down to blow out my garage because it blows things off the shelf.

It came in a box that shows it originally came with batteries. I'm guessing the guy bought it and just took out the charger and batteries then relisted it on EBay. That's cool with me because I have a few batteries.

It looks brand new and like I said, runs like a champ!!

I went to a car show today and took my boy. He loves cars, and I couldn’t be more happy! The DeLorean was a favorite right away. 1.21 Gigawatts!!!!

Then we saw the Mustang. He is a huge Transformer fan and thought it was Bumblebee.

I know how much he loves Transformers so I asked him if he could be one, Optimus or Bumblebee, which one would he want to be. He said he wanted to be Optimus Prime. So here we go. We'll try to make a Optimus Prime!!!

So we went down to Costco and got us some free cardboard.

I'm using multiple ideas from the internet and picking ideas from all of them. First I cut some holes in the cardboard.

We did a test fit and I didn’t like how it fell backwards. I’m gonna paint the inside black and see if I can come up with an idea.

Put some Velcro on the inside to help hold the bottom closer to his belly when he transforms.

First layer of primer on it. You get an idea how it'll look when he transforms into Optimus Prime!

I did a paw patrol truck with working lights for my son for halloween, but never done one that moves! Great work and let me know when you put up your etsy shop for the Nimbus 2000, I've got a few in my life I'd like to have one shipped to

UNRUH: my daughter (she's 28 now and married to a captain in the Army) named all 4 of their cats HARRY POTTER names (Raven, Therin, Puff & Huffle)

we like HARRY POTTER too and my bride used to read the family HP books on our drives when we'd all be in the car for more than 30 minutes so our kids wouldn't say "are we there yet".

I like the old Transformer movies too (not so much the newer ones) and looks like your son will make a great Optimus Prime thanks to his dad for a little help.

Working lights...hmmm. My daughter showed all of her friends a picture and now they wanna put together a Quiditch team. They are all putting in special orders. We'll see how they turn out!

First layer of paint. The blue covered really nice, but the red is gonna take a couple coats. Still working on the front and rear wheels, and the smoke stacks. The going is slow, but I'm having a lot of fun.
