Looking for a ratchet that's 24ish inches long. I need it to be fine tooth and flex head. I've looked at the Snapon version and can't justify the $200+ It would cost for the amount it will be used. The Titan model doesn't have fine teeth so that's out. I see ez red has one but unsure of the quality. Will use this ratchet for one purpose in a very tight spot not very often so don't need perfection just fine tooth and mediocre :) any suggestions ?

For what application do you need a fine tooth 1/2" ratchet that is for a 24-inches long?

Ez red is fine. Kobalt would be more. There are other rebrands of these taiwanese ratchets (like the ez red) but I don't keep track of them all besides ampro. 1/2" means torque shouldn't be a problem with any of them unless there's a mfg defect which aren't typical with this stuff.

air ratchet work?

i dont know if i could even get an air ratchet up into the space. its pretty tight quarters in between 2 cross beams on the chassis of the trailer.

the thing is the rear bags are usually pretty simple to remove and replace. but the front bags are often a pain in the **** because its boxed in between the front beam, and cross beams of the chassis. not much room above either because of the floor of the trailer.

Not as long as you want but the Gearwrench 120 tooth might work well for you with a small cheater pipe.

My SO truck guy sold me SLF80 24'' brand new for $100 cash. when i bought it i was thinking this thing is going to be too big and clumsy for dooing anything; I was totally wrong. The 2 footer has been the best ratchet i have owned by far. For some reason the 80 tooth mechanism is just way sweeter in the 1/2's then the 3/8s, pure butter to the fingertips. So truck man had a used one with comfort handle for 100: so i got another one (had to share the wonder). Personally i would go for a professional quality tool for an extra long 1/2 ratchet. If you cant haggle with a S/o guy; Ebay? I was going to buy a SK tuff 1 (72 tooth) or Armstrong (60 or 72 might be the maxx series) 1/2 ratchet if i did not get a deal on my s/o first.

Have you looked on e-bay for the snap on?

They are a lot cheaper than your $200+.

Cornwell has a fine tooth 27" flex head ratchet. And it seems to be cheaper than other tool truck brands. I have a few cornwell ratchets and I really like them. http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat...2”-Drive-Fine-Tooth-Flex-Head-Handle-Ratchet-

I have this ratchet, it is a nice ratchet but I am too am a diesel mechanic and I have broken this ratchet 5 times in the course of one year. No cheater pipes or anything, when I put a lot of torque on it the thing just locks up. I traded in my 24 inch snap on for this when they came out because it was longer and still fine toothed, wouldn't do it again. Now the cornwell truck hasn't shown up in 5 months, it's a good thing I live within driving distance of the Cornwell headquarters and warehouse so I just go there and they replace the whole thing. The people in the warehouse said they see a lot of these coming back. I'm going to buy another snap on.

I got the snap on Very long flex with handle on ebay for $115. My snap on guy (who is very cool) dropped a new head set in it for me, just like brand new. I would buy this ratchet again if I had to.

Ask your snap on dealer if there are promos. I have found there are a lot of promos they don't necessarily advertise. I managed to score their new 36" breaker bar for like 50 bucks off.

That *****. I want that ratchet. I wish they made it in the regular 30 tooth design. I'm not a big fan of the Cornwell Fine tooth ratchets. In my situation it may be a good ratchet since I work at Honda.

Yes stay away, I bet even loosening a lug but on a car would lock it up. I wasn't abusing none of the ones that broke, total garbage.

Dont buy the harbor freight breaker bar with ratchet. I bought it to do alignments and it jammed up. I got a warranty replacement and it jammed again. Now I have a jammed ratcheting breaker bar that is now just a breaker bar
