Does someone make a long pattern flare wrench? I know its a long shot, but I have a power steering box that I can't break one of the lines loose....

If you've got the room, an impact socket attached to a 3/8 impact will take it off super quick. Of course, I've cut more than a few lines off with an air saw and turned the core in as is.
I don't think any company offers a long pattern line wrench other than those Granco models I've only seen in SAE. I think the manufacturers are trying to protect us from ourselves. Imagine the damaged and twisted fittings that would result from a long line wrench?:wtf:

One, Im not that big so I need all the mechanical help I can get...:bounce:
Two, the box isn't bad, Im just swapping in a different engine and PS pump that will require custom lines.
Three, this particular fitting is SAE...

Then you're in luck, the Granco set supplied to the government will meet your needs nicely. Now you just have to wait for a set to show up on Ebay...

More like they're protecting themselves from warranty claims. If they build it people will use it on grade 9 bolts:bounce:

from what I have heard people prefer the snap on line wrenches over anything else.

Egg-sack-lee...

The S/O stuff seems to not spread and holds up to "abuse" (see smacking with larger hammer) better than most other brands. The regular C-man raised panel line wrenches seem to be the the absolute worst followed only closely by harbor freight.. No really. I've used the C-man pros before and they didn't seem much better than the raised panels with the exception of having a pretty smooth chrome finish to watch your reflection in while the wrench spreads and that flare nut is sitting there solidly giving you the finger.

I have to agree, the Cman line wrenches are limited at best and thats being generous. I could send them to the China scrap bin and not miss them. I go for cutting the line off and using socket.

At one time, Snap on had the black finish line wrenches that were made to use the removable handle. I think one of the handles was the 24B.

I have a couple of them in my box that I could take pictures of.

I was wrong, they were not made to use the interchangable handle. It has been a long time since I needed any of these wrenches.

So what would a set of Granco 3/8 to 1 1/8 12 pt flair wrenches be worth? I might have a chance to buy a set locally. I went from never knowing of Granco to finding a nice shiny set in less than a day...
