I've been a member for at least a couple years, but somehow this is my first post. I've owned a 1920's craftsman home for 6 years, and one of my favorite features is the almost 4 car garage with loft. Its a little cluttered in the photos, I'm a father of two toddlers so I have time to wrench or clean.. not both.
I'm a little sketchy on the history, but I think the original garage was added on to, but the original door still functions inside. The 1970's addon features cement walls, which is great insulation. The upstairs has terrible insulation, but the second floor is pretty well insulated from the first.
Its detached, but has a wall mounted propane heater which will get the first floor to 50 degrees when its 20 outside.
I'm about to buy some Clopay Gallery wood grain doors with upper windows, and am enjoying the advice from all the existing threads. The current doors are rotted, most likely from the original 70's construction. My original Craftsman openers are still both going strong!
