I found my people...
I've got a '24 model Bobcat E48, a '23 JD 325G, high flow, fully spec'd, and an '01 Bobcat T190 OROPs just as toys / property maintenance / hobby things. I could have bought myself a fast car for my 40th Birthday, but a new Excavator seemed more functional and less tickets (so long as I call 811 first).

I don't see the Bobcat CUT line mentioned in this thread. Their machines are getting a good bit of praise for their lift capacity and overall build quality. My dad is currently a salesman for the local Deere chain and he said that the Bobcat stuff is where he'd be looking if he was shopping, (but don't tell anyone). However, he currently owns an early 2000's new Holland that I think he'll never let go of. He loves that thing.

Bobcat CUT and SCUT tractors are rebadged Kiotis, although Bobcat is supposedly working on their own in house tractor.

Bobcat is owned by Doosan.

Kioti Is Daedong’s tractor, skid steer, and, supposedly excavator brand.

I have a Kubota B5100 that has 10 or 12 diesel hp. I also have a Husqvarna YTH 2248 that has a 22hp Kohler gas engine. They both have 48" belly mower decks. I gotta say, the Kubota was measured with Clydesdales. Or maybe the Husqvarna is measured with Barbie toy horses. I'm selling the Husqvarna as the Kubota is MUCH better on fuel and has been 1000% reliable.

You’re only going to do lawn maintenance once with a tractor that large, and with ag tires before you realize it’s too large, bulky, and heavy for that type of work.

Totally unsuitable for yard maintenance. But great for farm chores. Different machines for different purposes.

One is a 3600 rpm rated engine wish limited torque ride designed for a given purpose at a price point.

The Diesel weighs five times as much costs twenty times as much, and is probably rated at 2400 rm with a different torque curve.

Both do what they were designed to do, at different price points.

Selecting a tractor for yard work isn’t a **** swinging exercise

Haha. But there's more than big box store **** to be had. If you're willing to look. My Kubota might weigh 200 lbs more than the Husqvarna. I think you're referring to some other bigger tractor. The Kubota can't do much more than the Husky but is much more efficient and reliable. The Kubota is a 1984 model and the Husky is a 2013. I paid $2k for the Kubota and $3200 for the Husky. No dicks being swung here just my opinion. Buy whatever pos the big box store will sell you, and buy another one every 5 years.

Didn't know Deutz Fahr still sold tractors in the US. Seem to recall that started when they owned AC, then ended around the time AGCO was formed and Deutz Fahr got spun off from Deutz.

If these are as simple as they claim (however, no emissions is a misnomer--it's simply a "No Maintenance" Tier 4 system), I may end up ditching the Deere 3038e for one. I hate dealing with the cramped engine bay, and I can't stand the smell of DEF. The 3038E has proven slightly small for heavy stuff (size isn't a problem, it's the extremely light weight due to the aluminum rear end), yet too big for garden work.

I'm wondering if the deal SDF Group (Deutz-Fahr's parent) recently made with AGCO to produce smaller Massey Fergusons is why we don't get the compact Deutz Fahr or SAME tractors over here?

Kinda like the OP wanting a CUT to mow grass?

They must be making a comeback around here, because I've been seeing quite a few of them. Big ones too.

My suggestion was to buy a homeowner lawn tractor or a ZTR for mowing grass, and a small CUT for driveway and general property maintenance, box blade, bush hogging, drop work, etc.

I don’t get the whole scut thing, but everybody’s situation is different.

Can’t see an 80 hp utility / farm tractor for homeowner use, either, although that’s a good fit for twenty acres.

I worked at kubota dealer for 3 decades. Started as JD, yamaha, kawasaki. Then later on took the kubota dealership, and sold JD in 2004-ish.

didn't like the direction JD was going, mass marketing. Thats why the boss sold the deere side off.

deere too much plastic...IMO

Some of the other brands are rebadged imports....I don't trust that when it comes to spending a lot of money on a product...

I don't like a bunch of plastic on a tractor either, nor do I like "mass marketing" (selling products at lowes/home depot/etc)

don't much care for mahindra, not bad stuff, just no dealer support here. Same with bob cat same with some of the other brands

I know kubota pretty well and I'd probably buy another one if i had the choice....I just wouldn't buy it at the dealer I worked for.

I love my SCUT (JD 1025R TLB), but I wouldn't use it to mow my yard... I have a lawn tractor for that (JD X500).
