I just put up some metal shelves in the garage and I want to fabricate some wood doors for them. There was a thread somewhere that showed how a member did it, and it also had a link to Workbench Magazine (I think that's what It was called) that had similar plans all drawn out.

I thought I had bookmarked it...any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

It was Workbench, issue 304, Volume 63, Number 6, December 2007.

I don't have the link, but I did download the plans from the link that was provided on that old thread. If you can't find it online, PM me with your email address and I'll send you the pdf.

I really like this idea! Those metal shelf units are fairly affordable but I hate how open they are. Although I have to wonder if it's not a better idea to just spend a little more and buy already enclosed cabinets (wood or metal). I've been looking for deals on craigslist as I need to outfit my new garage with some storage solutions on the cheap. Seems that for the price of some of these shelves + materials would roughly be similar to finding used cabinets. Plus you need to factor in the time you'd spend doing the build. Of course if you already have the shelves it's a no-brainer.

*EDIT*
Oooh, I like that sliding door idea even more! I had been planning on putting a wall of shelves on the left side of my garage which is also the side where my track car is parked. Using sliding doors would give me a lot more room in that area (my garage is a tiny 18x18).
