My toolbox is beyond capacity. I'd love to get a new box, but spending $15,000 on a new one is out of my means momentarily. I do have a drawer that is completely filled with nuts, bolts, fittings, electrical connectors....anything that I may need on an emergency basis at my dealership job. If I can empty this drawer, I have more storage!

So, what I'm looking is to use the space under my toolbox (5"x30"x21") are the dimensions I can fit between my casters. I am looking for ideas of something that can easily slide out from under my box if I need one of my "extra parts" I can use the dividers that are in my drawer now. I know many of you will say "make something" but I really don't have the time to do so right now. The drawer of hardware probably weighs around 100-150 lbs. Maybe more. Thanks for your help!

You'll have to build it yourself but it works:

I built two similar drawers to go under my workbench from scrap plywood in a couple of hours spread over two or three nights (very little uninterrupted time at my house).

Another option is to buy an extra drawer that matches your toolbox and add casters to it.

You can get a good 26" box for $100-$200. Look for an older good quality box that is faded/ugly etc. as long as the drawers work well you just doubled your storage. I have quite a few from $20 to $100 boxes that will outlast anything Craftsman is selling today. I dont have to wax them either.

I have an old craftsman beater box thats a 5drawer thing about 4 ft high by 3ft wide, i use purely for spare car parts/test parts and extra gaskets, orings and thermostats, plus all my misc nuts and bolts.

it lives in the corner of my bay and that way i keep the junk out of my nice box. i paid 25 bucks for it at a garage sale

I don't have room for an extra box in my bay. I have my box, my cart, my workbench, my oil drain and a garbage can. I need room for cars! Under my workbench is drain/catch cans. Plus leaving it under my box will be less visible to those scavangers that think what's mine is theirs.
