I built some new cabinets and drawers.
I'm looking for some "man-ly" knobs or handles so nobody thinks they are in the kitchen. :)
Sort of along the line as this...

Anyone know of any others?

I have a collection of old valve handles, and I intend to use the matches I have as pulls when I remodel my kitchen. Lots like the ones in this photo I shamelessly stole online:

I have been thinking about using small galvanized pipe fittings and *******. The Home Depot doesn't have the wall flanges in the smaller sizes but I am sure I will find some at a plumbing supply house.

I am going to make the drawer pulls the full width of the drawers and the door handles the full height of the doors.

Probly go with 3/8" or 1/4" (I.D.).

Sparkplugs with a bolt welded to the side making a T handle. Made a set but changed the benches over to Shure brand wall mount and boxed up the handles.

How about the bottom half of an aluminum conecting rod sort of C shaped and very macho. Also consider other car parts or mechanical objects....:)

One of the members on here made handles from small wrenches. It was pretty much a "cool" factor in the garage. Some place like the flea market, BigLots, etc could score you a vast array of various sizes or small sizes. Maybe smaller ones for doors and larger wrenches for drawers. I machined some up for my nephews' business that all the pulls looked like pistons. Everyone that seen them thought that they were from a model airplane or RC car. All in all I think I only had maybe 2 hours total in about 40 knobs.

funny; i just read a thread about a welder who was laid off.

bet some folks would ante up and buy some boss custom made cabinet pulls - not the off the shelf kind- but one of a kind custom fabricated from your grandfather's old model T tool kit - [feel free to insert relative & memorabilia of your choice]

Havent gotten around to it yet, but I'm thinking about making some brackets so I can display my beer tap handle collection, doubling as cupboard door handles.

what about putting a short bolt through and screwing on a chrome lugnut on the out side.

I have some old headlight switches from "something" that I ended up with a bulk amount from an auction one time. They are all the same.. standard round pull type knob with a headlight emblem on them. They are threaded on the back so I had always thought they'd be good for cabinet pulls. Which is why I've kept them :)

I've also seen a photo somewhere of Mugen's offices in Japan where they use connecting rods for the main door handles. Kinda cool.

Why not build your own? I built my own cabinets and handles too.

& I respectfully "borrowed" your idea:

Excellent! The best part is when a buddy asks "where do you keep your widgets?", you simply tell him to look in the cabinet with the blue Mustang or the cupboard with the silver Corvettes!

The worst part is when a four year old kid points at your drawers and says "...I have that car too....". Especially if it happens in front of some buddies.

Bump! And has anyone tried the lugnut idea before? I have a bag full of them from my old Jeep, so that would be great. However with that said they might snag from time to time...any more thoughts?

Thanks!

How about air cleaner wing nuts? Not exactly cheap, but you can generally find them specific to your favorite make of car.
