I've got 6 oof the husky 28" hanging wall cabinets. Want to do 3 on each side of the wall. Problem is, I can't align the studs and the cabinet hanger to position the cabinets right next to one another.

Thinking of mounting a couple 2x4s on the wall across the studs, then mount the hangers to those.

Anyone got any ideas that are maybe... cleaner? I've got some 3/4" Baltic birch plywood, but I've got doubts regarding how well that might hold assuming the cabinet ends up secured directly in the middle of the studs.

Cabinets are 54lbs each. I'll be storing mostly oils in them.

Appreciate any ideas!

Alright, sounds like a plan. So the 6" thickness of the french cleats is what is handling the vertical shear stress? Yeah, that should hold this weight...

That will be fine. My wall cabinets were built by the manufacturer w/ cleats. And both pieces are of some kind of MDF and maybe 4 inches wide.

Put a 1 or 2x under them so it’s easy to get
Them level. Screw to studs then attach cabinets together at
Multiple points with
Nuts and bolts. Even at 24 in center you should have plenty of meat. Use washer or wood interior of cabinet to spread load.

+1 On the French Cleat, make it tall enough you can run 2 screws into each stud. Looks like the cabinets have lots of prepunched holes to attach to. You'll likely want an additional furring strip the same thickness across the bottom so that the cabinets hang parallel to the wall, doesn't need to be full width but would be easy to screw it to the wall prior to hanging the cabinets and give another place to anchor the cabinets to for piece of mind.

French Cleats are one of the best things to come from France.

They rival French Drains in adaptability.

I used the Husky track-wall kit to hang my Husky cabinets. Basically the same idea as a French-cleat. Was super easy to adjust the cabinets.

*have since removed the cabinets, drywalled, and reinstalled cabinets. Needed the storage space before I was able to drywall.

This may be a long shot given how old this post is, but, care to share any more info on how you mounted using this wall track system? Trying to wrap my head around it. How do the cabinets hang onto the track? With the provided hanger? Thanks!

Also, OP, curious what you ended up doing to hang your Husky cabinets. I’ve 4 that I want to hang side by side. But my studs are 24” on center so makes it even trickier. I like the French cleat idea but not really sure how to attach the top cleat to the metal cabinet.

Bonjour

Mine won't fall!!!

They each come with large lag screws, but I would use more than two per box. They are pretty thin/flimsy but mounted together should stiffin up pretty nice. Good luck with your project.
