If you love Snap-On that much then just buy them.
I personally don't see why you would pay the same price for a used item when both are the same quality.
Thats correct....but i really meant just not off the truck....All my ebay purchases were new or like new for 50 to 70 % off. So yea for the same price i would go american and I imagine the warranty would be easier....Yea i also like thos z sockets and the fact they can be used with any wrench makes them a PLUS over snappy 4sure.

OP . . . right now with the $100 Sunex rebate on impact sockets, can't beat that deal for bunch of 3/8" drive sockets that will handle ANYthing you can throw at them !! See the other GJ thread and look at model 3580 set of Sunex. Net price of around $100 (after rebate) will get you awesome set of 3/8" drive Sunex impact sockets.

I'm still leaning towards the SK set I mentioned in the first post. But I have a small problem with it. I keep my sockets and small common used hand tools on my truck in a wheel well box. The bottom drawer is dedicated to sockets, extensions and ratchets. In order to make this work I have to keep the sockets on rails. Seems like a shame to take SK sockets out of that nice green case and put them on rails.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings as much with the Gearwrench set, but I go out of my way to try and buy USA when it comes to hand tools.

Am I just being stupid or ...... ?

Not being stupid - As you well know, In a mobile environment you have certain space constraints you have to contend with and rails will trump the green box.

I haven't seen any ZEAL sockets in SAE though :(

z-eal in sae would be nice but there are so much koken to try out. SAE is not always required to have low profile.

I caught the yellow fever. This is the list of what I have ordered , do own and plan to order. Should be all I need in koken stuff. The 1/4" is not really needed by me but can one ever own too much tools?

Ko-Ken 4238AM 1/2" sae/metric set (wish list)
Ko-ken 3200A 3/8" non-zeal 6&12 point sae (wish list)
Ko-Ken 3285Z Z-EAL 3/8" (own)
Ko-Ken RS3300XZ/12 Z-EAL 3/8" 12 piece mid profile metric rail set (ordered)
Ko-ken P2285Z 1/4" z-eal set (wish list)
Ko-Ken RS3025Z/8-L75 8 piece long torx bit set (ordered)

Gearwrench is Taiwan correct?

Just wanted to touch base here. I inquired as to the COO of the CPO buy one get one GearWrench set. (3/8 and 1/4) They replied saying that they are made in China. So there you go - a definitive answer. Can't say anything about the ones oldldh posted about from ToolDiscounter, though. They may or may not be Taiwan.

For my money, i'll stick with one of the SK sets. I only need 3/8 right now and the 1/4 bonus set would have been just that - a bonus. Without that unneeded (right now) 1/4" set, we're talking $120 for China vs $160 for USA - and i'll stick with the USA made set. If I need to fill in some sockets in 1/4", I can get some Taiwan stuff from Harbor Freight.
