Looking for recommendation on Garage Storage cabinets

Hi,

I have used the web/search tool and have not been able to find any postings related to garage storage - I suspect I am not using the tool correctly some how.

Yesterday I went to Menards and looked at MasterForce garage cabinet systems, the quality seems nice enough for my needs/use, but they do not have a 72" tall cabinet, only stackable cabinets.

Looking online, it looks like HomeDepot carries Husky and NewAge.

I have a residential garage attached to my home that I am interested in organizing with a modular cabinet & tool bench system.

Last weekend I spent 9 hours cleaning out my garage to make room for a better system for organizing.

Thank-you,
Tom Hudson

I like the New Age Pro 3.0. Not the Bold 3.0.

X2. Just stop the research and order the New Age pro. It will save you hours of time spent agonizing over the best value for your money. There are better cabinets, but that comes along with a super hefty price tag. If $ is no big deal, order Baldhead Cabinets. If you can affordable the New Age Pro you want, buy some now and more later. They are by far the best value for the money!!!

I have gladiator 6' x 4' cabinets, 30x30 cabinets, 44" tool chests... Sadly I can't tell you a damn thing about them since they are still sitting in their original boxes. This is the year they get installed!!!

Glad the others speak highly of them, I followed Jim's thread because of the cabinets!

Type in NewAge garage cabinets in the search box for this forum. Go to my website ShopStorageCabinets.com and check out the differences between the 18 gauge Pro and Performance Plus cabinet and the 24 gauge NewAge Bold and Performance cabinets.

Sales on NewAge cabinet sets rotate monthly, if you find a set that's not on sale add it to a quote and I'll send you an invoice with the best price I can offer.

Delivery is free and usually 1 to 3 weeks. No one buys these at retail.:beer:

I really like the Gladiator Premier stuff. Hell, I even put some in my closet.

I've not been impressed with much else that can actually be found on store shelves.

There's some really fancy stuff if you have the budget allotted for it. I just haven't messed with it. Gladiator was good enough for my purposes.

I had a few Gladiator cabinets in my previous garage and I liked them. Moved, ended up with a blank slate so I thought I'd re do with same. Ordered through Lowes and they took f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Then when they finally arrived they were all damaged.
That's when I found DFA (above) and he's no joke. Great price on NewAge cab's. All delivered in two weeks or so and their quality leaves Gladiator in the dust.
I'm now a NewAge fanboy. I'll see if I can find a pic....

If you're handy and have the time to build, this is what I would do. As soon as I get some time and priorities reorganized this is what I plan on building in my garage. Here's 2 videos, basically the same thing just different sizes

Good luck in your search

Chase327 - those New Age Pro 3.0 wall cabinets look nice.

When you open the door, is the floor of the cabinet flush with the door opening so stored items can simply slide out? Or is there a raised vertical metal lip so you have to lift the item up before pulling out of the opening? Can you take a picture of the this area?

I looked at the new Craftsman wall cabinets that Lowes is now selling and they appear to have the raised lip.

There is a lip of 1-2” on the wall cabinets.

Another vote for Whirlpool Corp. 'Gladiator' Premier cabinets. I have five of the 30" X 30" X 12" twin-door wall-mount cabinets. No shelf lip. I screwed them to the CBS garage walls with 1/4" tapcons and fender washers. I probably didn't need it, but I first mounted a ledger board beneath them, which made mounting them evenly much-easier.

I also have the Craftsman rolling cabinets, available in drawers or twin-doors, all of-which (the Craftsman floor-rollers) I bought on closeout for about 25% of MSRP. They fit under my Craftsman 8 ft. workbench perfectly, providing lots of storage. Being on wheels, it's easy to remove them for an occasional 'clean-out the cobwebs' garage maintenance.

I have had Gladiator cabinets for about 15 years. My brother in law has New Age in his garage. I can tell you there is a big difference in quality and construction. If I was furnishing a new garage, I'd go with the New Age.

We have a very tight two car garage in Boston. Small yard and not many other places my wife hasn’t already claimed for storage, so the garage tends to pick up tools, and outdoor equipment, and everything else....

Had to try and get organized. Between sales and veterans discount, we bought six Gladiator cabinets at Lowes.

They take about 15 minutes each to assemble, so of course it took me only four months. :headscrat :headscrat

Two tall 18” cabinets and a shorter one in the corner. They’re still mostly empty so the eventual contents are everywhere.

And on the right side wall, two 28” and one 30” cabinet, with a tool bench underneath.

Spend years looking and pricing diff. garage cabinets. Was not happy with some of the metal ones just felt too cheap and the good ones were just to expensive for the amount I needed. We have a place called Restore that's part of Habit for Humanity were people and co's. donate complete kitchens for resale ,some in like new shape. I did just wind up buying nice black kitchen cab. from Home Depot on sale
