I had a woman make me 2 from old blue jeans with some Velcro closures for a set of SAE and METRIC gear wrench's and another set for Craftsman small ignition wrenches. Very rugged and cheap maybe $10.00 for the both it is an option if you know a seamstress.

Yep, wide-load jeans from a thrift shop provide plenty of material for several. I've made a few. And sew 'em yourself! You can figure out how to run a sewing machine - it ain't rocket science!

We use DIRT BAGZ in the race trucks....doesn't get much more heavy duty than that. (They make bags and rolls and etc)

I use these tool rolls by Rugged Tools (Amazon I think?). I looked in to several of the other items mentioned here (Carhardt, Bucket Boss, etc.) when I bought them but I wanted the socket pockets for my particular application. I happen to have made this list for another post elsewhere so if you're curious what they can hold:

Top roll in picture:

Channellock slip joint pliers
Channellock groove joint pliers
Channellock diagonal cutters
Channellock neddle nose pliers
7" Knipex Pliers Wrench
Straight jaw Vise Grips
Lennox 6" mini hack saw
Lennox folding jab saw
Mayhew 10" Heel Bar
Wilde 1/8" drift punch
Wilde 1/8" pin punch
Wilde 3/8" cold chisel
Dewalt 1/4 hex right angle adapter (I keep a 12 volt impact driver and drill in my tool bag)
SK SAE stubby combo wrench set (3/8 - 15/16)
Eklind SAE hex key set
Stanley box cutter
Blackhawk SAE shallow socket set (3/8" - 7/8")

Bottom roll:

Vaughan 8 oz ball peen hammer
Empire 6" square
Klein Tools 11 in 1 multi bit driver
Klein Tools stubby flip bit driver
Blackhawk 3/8 ratchet
Blackhawk 3/8 extension (3")
Blackhawk 3/8 universal socket adapter
Blackhawk 10" 3/8 breaker bar
Assorted Nicholson USA 6" files in ******* and 2nd cut (mill, round, half round, triangle)
Malkoff EDC flashlight body with Valiant Concepts VME head and M31WL p-60 drop-in
Speedy Stitcher sewing awl with Linhaynl 135 tex bonded nylon thread
Eklind Metric hex key set
SK Metric stubby combo wrench set (10 - 19mm)
Blackhawk metric shallow socket set (9-19 mm)

These all fit in my EDC tool bag along with my smaller tools in a Maxpedition Fatty pouch which contains: (left to right, top to bottom)

- Assorted generic driver bits

- 3 foot tape measure

- Assorted Pferd American pattern files

- Proto 1/4 drive socket set (SAE 3/16" - 9/16" and Metric 4mm - 14mm) with ratchet, driver and various extensions

- Osborne scratch awl

- Klein Tools micro driver

- Tekton (rebadged Wilde) drift punch, pin punch and chisel

- Cut off hack saw blade

- 6" ruler (actually from a square)

- Empire pocket caliper

- Knipex 6" Cobra Pliers

- Knipex 5" Pliers Wrench

- Klein Tools electricians scissors

- Wilde 6" adjustable wrench

- Irwin 5WR Vise Grips

- Streamlight Microstream flashlight (found in the pocket after I took the picture

I made my own out of leather when I had some remnants from doing my roadster interior. So we made a tool roll for the trunk and a few extra rolls for ?

I'd like to make some custom as well. Maybe I'll get some leather and warm up the old Pfaff. I've got some T135 Linhynal bonded nylon thread that would be perfect for some leather or heavy canvas.

Leather or canvas would be the bee's knees for a tool roll. If the OP doesn't want to make his own, I'd suggest giving HJE a look. I recall they had a few varieties available.

TYm, what is HJE . I have made a few toolrolls out of the waxed canvas and they work and look great. The waxed canvas is getting harder to find in cotton /wax blend. I did a interior on my 1934 ford truck in a brown wax canvas and leather . It was comfortable and looked great.
I wipped up a leather stitching horse to play with hand stitching , went a bit overboard and made it like one of my bomber seat I make lol

Adventure Tool Company makes some pretty heavy duty stuff. I've been using one of their tool rolls for years. (These might have been what Harry J. Epstein sold at one time, ISTR.)

I'm guessing the OP isn't looking for something high-end/heritage.

I got this from Duluth Trading Co, and like it:

I'd love to have one of these:

Might treat myself to one when bonuses happen (they're $95 for the 18-pocketI want)

I am sorry the link doesn’t seem to be working and would love to check it out and thanks for the link...
As a old timer and Model Maker (old school style) love seeing what is being made. In my trade we looked to improve the wheel and not necessarily successfully done...

HJE is Harry Junior Epstein. ( I think). It's a supplier of all kinds of tools that some Garage journal members have fallen in love with. It beats Amazon. I'm not an Amazon fan.

Ton Ton I’m with ya buddy and not much of the interwed amazon guy. Thank you for the info and have to check it out. I will say I love antique tools and ones with sole and madeup history lol. I will quote my buddy
“ Tools are a investment in ones Self”
