Dropped a 10mm socket out of my hoodie pocket putting an antenna in the roof of an f-350 fire truck. It landed on top the gas tank and rolled back under the bed, I messed around for 15 min trying to get to it before I gave up.

When I was a kid, my Dad used to say he could never find a 9/16" or 1/2" wrench (or whatever size he couldn't find) when he needed one because I used them on my bike and lost them.

I've bought him a couple of sets over the years to make up for that.

Now......I'm 44 and he is 70......he still can't find a damn thing in his garage.

I don't think it was me loosing them.

Lost or stolen. The bead breaker for my old manual hunter tire changer. It was always kept up against a very low chain link fence... There are so many things I wouldn't have missed worth the same in scrap, but it hat to be that.

I lost a shallow 10mm socket in an inaccessible crevice of a fender of a Mazda B2200. That next year my dad got rearended and the truck was totalled. We went to salvage some parts from the front end and there was a 10mm socket sitting right outside that crevice on the battery tray support. The socket I found was a deep one though...:headscrat

Lost my first good screwdriver -- a Klein flat blade I bought in high school when I first started building a set. Bummer.

Since then I've not really lost anything EXCEPT for 3/8 drive shallow 12 mm sockets. Two of them. Snap-Ons. Since I can't seem to hang onto these, I replaced it with a Duralast the last time I lost it again a couple months ago.
