Sorry for your loss, our lab is 13 and is really having a tough time lately, I dread the day we'll have to put her down but I know it's coming soon. Hang in there bud.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Sorry for your loss.

Thank you, its not easy and from the time I picked her up when she was 8 weeks old I knew the probability that I would outlive her but she was the "BOSS" from day one. She would come up to the bed and lick/kiss my face to wake me up, she would come to the door to say good-bye in the morning when I would go to work, and she would be sitting in the window waiting for me when I got home. I'm not going to work tomorrow in her honor, but I must admit as heart broken I feel, there is a relief in knowing that feeling everytime I looked into her eyes I would think when is that dreadful day coming, today was that day...but there is no question she loved us and that we loved her.

So sorry to hear about Bailey Ann, she was a good looking dog. Your new mix is a good looking dog too. Good luck with and many happy years with her.

Thanks man, she was an awesome dog and by far one of the most unique dogs I've ever met.

To update my post. Not long after we brought the new pup home my schnauzer started getting real jealous of her, got extremely food aggressive, was non compliant with us, and started shredding any toy of my toddlers that he could get a hold of.

We ended up putting an ad up on craigslist listing the problems and after a few emails we took him to meet a lady in her 60's. She had just put down her schnauzer and wanted to meet ours.

We got there and he jumped up ever so gently on her lap and fell asleep while she was petting him. We let him stay there and asked for an update and a month ago she called us an told us that he has lost a lot of wieght, went on long leashed walks with her(note we NEVER could get him leash trained) has learned a bunch of tricks(he knew a few with us and would respond to the command if he wanted to). According to the lady's daughter her mom has been a lot more active and happier as well.

I hated giving him up but he went to an awesome home where he and his new friend* are beneficial to each other.

*Sorry but dogs do not have 'owners' or 'masters'. They have friends :)
