if that's the case then, wow. I stand corrected. Maybe that's why they are marking them down. Makes no sense why they wouldn't be 72t.

Might as well get a harbor freight "pro" one then (if they have something similar)...assuming tooth count matters to people. Me? Not so much.

It really doesn't matter too much for me. I'm a homeowner who wrenches on his own vehicles. A higher tooth count would be nice but its not a deal breaker for me.

I like Kobalt wrenches and ratchets, but I hate the cheesy rubber handles. I fixed mine.

They also have it on their various line up of pliers. Snagged a channel lock style yesterday that were on clearance and when I got them home I just went :wtf::headscrat when I went to try them out.

Guess I'll just toss them in the junkyard bag

I agree about the weird square handles on their ratchets.

But I did recently get these screwdrivers with hexagonal rubber grips, and they feel pretty nice. Also, can't argue with the price($5.98 for the pair).

$19.99 at my store. I picked one up this afternoon.

Am I the only one who has the links on here direct them to the main page on Lowes?

That's why I didnt bother linking it. They must have changed something on their site cause it didn't always do that.

I believe those are USA made as well. I have used those and they are the nicest that Kobalt make.

I strongly considered those today. They looked nice and are US made. How did the tip of the phillips hold up when you used them?

Only used them a few times. A friend of min has them and I was helping him work on his Harley. They seemed fine. A little cam out on the Phillips but nothing terrible. He has a complete set that he bought. I really liked how they felt. I would buy them for my road box but I bought the Craftsman Pros a while back. For the money I would pull the trigger, these are one of the best kept secrets at Lowes

The ones pictured above are "Made in the US with foreign and domestic components."

Hmmm, maybe that's something special for the electricians set. I think I just glanced at the singles. Or the ones I saw are new since they seem to be resourcing most of the line.

It must be. All of the US made drivers I've looked at in Lowes looked to be the same as the low end Craftsman screwdrivers. These actually look to be very decent, especially for the price.

thought I grabbed it. got to the store and the girl says "oh its noted here to give you cash back." I drove there for nothing

I'm willing to be they were too lazy to go even check what they had on the shelf.

2 weeks ago I ordered several of the pipe wrench only to be told they were not in stock. 1 week ago I am in the store and I went digging through the pipe wrench and found the older ones mixed in with the newer ones.

Also if you ask to speak with the tool manager chances are you can get the newer version for the old price. They only changed a few cosmetic things and the part number on these wrenches.

I did go looking before I walked out. The girl wasn't too friendly when I asked for a manager. Good thing I only shop there for clearance.

I have a similar experience there sometimes when I go for the clearance items. I usually write down the Item #, Store SKU #, and any other info from the website that I think they might need to locate the item. If not, they sometimes take a quick look around and say they don't have it.

An example: One time I had an employee look for an item (a hatchet, I think) then he had to get someone else, then finally they got the store manager who sent out two or three other guys looking for the item. They finally found them put up in some out-of-the-way place after about 30min of searching.

Another time there, I saw a Bosch 4" angle grinder on clearance for about $20 off on the website but the ones in the store were not marked down. I explained everything to this girl at the "customer service" and she flatly stated that I would have to pay the store price. I about gave up and was walking out and happened to see a guy that works there that actually knows something, so I asked him to check the website again. He did and told me that if it shows that price on the site then they will sell it at that price. He went straight over and wrote the price on it with a sharpie and I bought it at the lower price. So be persistent with them and sometimes you will win. :bounce:

Engine, agreed. Believe it or not, I only recently started discovering the insane Lowe's clearance deals they have occasionally. I had long ago given up on Lowes since they are higher priced than everyone else where I live, and I only shopped there when I really needed something the other stores didn't have. Well, thanks to this and the previous GJ thread, I've now found a couple nice clearance deals for like $0.25 each. Thanks all ! You are all super people here, despite what your friends or familly think of you ! :)

I always write down the model number/item number too. A few days back, they had these little oil cans for $0.69 each down from like $8 each. I went in over lunch break that day and they were already all gone, but the sales helper was willing to check the storage stock, and they did have some more there. So I got some after all for me and some family members as gifts. Where they put things in the store is random, halfhazard, and potluck to find things yourself. I almost always need sales help to find stuff, but usually, people are very helpful where I am. - Paul

They are pretty small but work real nice! Modern spray blast lube cans sort of replace the need for traditional oil cans if you use those, but I can use a few of these. One for cutting fluid for drilling or cutting metal. One for the workshop for general purpose oil. One for the garage. A great deal if still available for you and your store. - Paul

I have no idea what you guys are going to use those for...and that's why they've been on clearance for months.

I have no idea what I'll use it for either, but when the moment arises, I'll know...

Any one want to buy one of the Channellock 89 for the $8.25 and ship it to me? (I will pay) my store doesn't have them anymore and I could use a set for my bunker gear.

I finally got back to the Lowes where I saw them, and unfortunately they are all out.

I bought the kobalt toung nd grove pliers when they were on clearnce. Couple years ago. Worst ones I've owned. The big 12 or 14" one I got on clearnce has been decent but the 3 piece slips bad
