Thse are $2 now. My local store shows 44 in stock, but I'll be damned if I can find them. I think the new models of tools are so close (like the pipe wrenches) that the employees can't get the inventory straight.

On the plus side, I did pick up a few 10" pipe wrenches for my boys today. 4 10" aluminum, and 2 10" steel for a total of $10.71. I think it was $1.49 for the steel, and $1.69 for the aluminum. Already picked up some 14s and 18s for peanuts last time I was in there.

I think I've paid a total of $24 for 2 - 18"ers, 4 - 14"ers, and 6 - 10"ers.

Anyone have the item number for their website so I can see if my local store's inventory shows if they have any of these plier sets? I've found the black and blue handled ones, but I want to see if any other stores in the area have them. I search 253677 and it came up with what I thought were the correct set, but they are still showing $19.98.

These were on clearance for $10ea for Metric and SAE at one of the Lowes in Austin, TX.

I got one of each...and now I just realized that the 34pc wrench set I got over Christmas has all of them in it plus one more....oh well...I'll get to return it next weekend in a completely different state.

They were $15 at my store, and they start at 12mm and go to 18mm. For the price, I'd rather get the Sunex set off Amazon and get everything 10-19mm.

Just took a look at them...

12mm-17mm

7/16-3/4

And yeah if they're not that much then probably better to go with Sunex. I paid less than $20 for both with my discount. I might end up keeping them for use as motorcycle kit wrenches. Cheap enough I don't care if they get rusty or lost, and small enough to fit into a small tool bag. Just gotta see how useful they are size wise as a road side kit.

I picked up a folding Ideal imperial allen key set for 99 cents.

They also had a bunch of Kobalt branded crossforce individual wrenches for 50% off, but they were still pretty expensive. Like $5 for the smaller sizes, and it goes up from there. I never liked crossforce either because I link wrenches occasionally.

They still got dat giant iggle iggle video up dere for yins in dat mall?

Hehehehehe. You know that light up there at that four way before walmart, I boffed a turn and tore up the exhaust shielding on the bottom of my car on that raised divider one night when I was trawling for ladies. Not a lot of good tail up there, they all look like they got hit with a shovel to the face when they were toddlers. True story.

Haha. I know that turn.

This place is growing like crazy though, new developments everywhere and I read some several hundred million this year alone. Low taxes I guess.

That brought up a kitchen sink for me.

Links to Lowe's website never work. Would you mind telling me the item number you used ?

A little hint: The item number is the first series of numbers in the posted links. In this case, it's 253677

Anyone have a zip code with the $2.** price that I can enter in, show the cashier at my local Lowe's, and see if they will match?

Went back to Lowes today, looking for the ratchet and spark plug socket set. Looked around for about 10 minutes and found 2 on the end cap display. I KNOW they were not there last week. Anyway, I picked up both for just under $13.00 each.

Sorry about that.

I've noticed that when an item goes out of stock the clearance price will no longer show for your store. No idea why that is, though.

My store showed 3 in stock, so I ordered them. Of course the store called today and said they were out. Did make some progress with the manager though. She said that if I call ahead she'll set aside any clearance items for me. Hard to beat that. Now to see if she sticks to it.

12" 1/4-drive flex head ratchets were down to $12.49 at my store. They had 3 and I bought 2. They show out of stock online though for that store.

maybe il stick a snap on handle on it or turn it down

Scan through eBay. I picked one up brand new for $14. I'd give you the link but it was the only one the seller had. Deals are out there though.

John Deere Riding Mower Maintenance Kit $6.24 if available for in-store pickup.

(Credit to slickdeals). I picked up 2 even thought it won't fit my utility tractor because I figured it was worth it for the rest and can give away the filter to my uncle with a GT235.

You get 2 quarts of oil, a filter, saftey glasses, gloves and fuel stabilizer.

I ordered this pliers set on the website and the payment went through. It sent me a confirmation that the order was ready to pick up. Went to pick it up and when I got there the cashier said "oh, we can't get that item, sorry." I said, "I already paid for it and received an email saying that it was ready for pickup." She said, "That is just an automated response from the system. Sometimes that happens with the clearance items." I told her that recently the store manager said to me that if it shows on the website that they do have it in stock. She says, "Do you want to talk to the manager"? I say, "No, I don't need to hear more excuses".

So they refunded my card. -- Another fine interaction with Lowes.

Customer service issues like this is what turns me completely off from Lowes. My brother in law is the store manager in the next town over, his store was out of these. I finally found a few sets (according to the website) at another store, but the price was showing $19.98 still. I took a picture of the website showing that they were selling for $2.80 at other stores. They refused to match it. It's weird because I got them to price match and beat the DW715 miter saw for $135 at HD (their regular price is $299), but they wouldn't match their own company's pricing. How does that happen?

HD cancels as many of my orders as Lowes does, but they at least call and tell me and don't send a confirmation email.

This happens over and over again. It happens to me, and everytime I'm at the counter its happening to others as well.

Part of the problem is that their inventories get screwed up when the switch suppliers. The store ends up with 3 different part numbers for 18" pipe wrenches and the employees cant tell them apart and they all get inventoried together. That results in screwed up counts.

The second problem is the automated responses. Don't tell me my damn order is ready if it's not. Then I'm wasting my time, and Lowes is getting what they want: me in their store. They know customers don't want to leave empty handed and just by walking in there's a good chance that you'll buy something.

You should tell them to give you a substitute item of equal retail value at the the clearance price. They can't sell you stuff that does't exist just to get you in the store. I highly doubt a court would agree with their current business practices, which seem remarkably like bait and switch.

to call it a bait and switch is crazy......they are not smart enough to pull that off
Just plain incompetence, nothing more

I had similar issue with Lowes. I bought some pliers on clearance at a local Lowes, drove to a second Lowes less then 10 miles away. I showed them my receipt and ask for a price match. They acting like I was trying to rob them. :headscrat But the same Lowes has accepted my HF coupons with out questions. I just learned to accept the bad with the good. They can win a battle or two, as long as I win the war. :D

Yep I feel ya on that. My sister took a picture of a lowes coupon she got for moving. She sent it to me and I went into lowes and they wouldnt accept it. The manager said they couldnt type in the numbers (they can, she didnt want to). I walked over to the kiosk and ordered it for store pickup, used the code and went back to the counter. I then thanked the manager for wasting my time.
